NO LOGO! (unbranded)
I appreciated that there was no brand logo printed anywhere on the product, so what you get is a completely ambiguous and unbranded espresso tamper. I couldn't find a highly reviewed and unbranded one on amazon, so if that's what you're looking for then this is it right here! The photos show it having a logo on the top that is not there IRL.The quality is very solid as expected, it's a heavy chunk of metal and I anticipate it will last forever. The finish is still flawless after a few weeks of use.

Heavy Heavy Heavy and works!
Did I mention heavy? This beast is solid stainless steel. It packs the coffee grinds down with ease, and doubles as a light morning bicep workout!Nice addition to the breakfast nook.

Well Designed Product
The Vktech Stainless Steel Coffee Tamper is a well made product. It fits the hand nicely, has a nice heft (it is solid metal), and it is polished to a nice luster. It is a very well designed and attractive tamper.I kept putting off buying a metal coffee tamper rationalizing that it was money I did not need to spend. I was making do with the plastic tamper that came with my Expresso machine or using the bottom of a round spice jar that sort of fit the grounds basket. I finally took the plunge and purchased this tamper and am very pleased with its performance. I am not sure if the coffee tastes any better but it is sure a lot easier to tamp the grounds not to mention that it looks kind of neat just sitting there on the counter with the Expresso machine that is also polished stainless steel. With respect to the 51mm diameter of this tamper, it fits my grounds basket perfectly but machines vary in grounds basket diameter so I would recommend if you are considering purchasing a tamper, to first measure the internal diameter of your grounds basket and purchasing a tamper that is slightly smaller (say around 0.5 mm). These are not adjustable so if you purchase one that is too large, it simply will not work and if you purchase one that is too small, the grounds will push out around the edges when you try to tamp them. Bottom line, purchase the size you need to fit your grounds basket.Overall, I give this product five stars. On one level, it seems a little pricy but the manufacturer hit a homerun with this design.

High-quality budget tamper
As I have begun to make more and more espresso, I decided that I needed to upgrade from the plastic built-in tamper on my De'Longhi EC155. That tamper was too small for the 51mm portafilter basket, and it was hard to tamp upwards with even force. As I was pulling inconsistent espresso, I decided that something needed to change, and turned to this tamper. I wanted a tamper that was heavyweight stainless steel, and this tamper is it! The body feels very solid. There is a line where the handle may separate from the base with enough force, but I have not been able to unscrew it (I do not want two pieces, but tried to for the sake of this review). The tamper is quite heavy, weighing in at 1 lb. 4.2 oz. This makes for a nice, even tamp. As the photos show, it is just slightly taller than your average shot glass. After some use, the shine holds up. It is easy to clean with a cloth. I would not risk putting it into the dishwasher. In case it helps, I have attached a photo of the tamper in my depressurized EC155 basket. At 51mm, it fits perfectly. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Excellent replacement for plastic tamper; heavy, smooth tamping head.
This is a heavy, but extremely smooth expresso tamper. For the price I was expecting something relatively shoddy, but when I opened up the box I was thoroughly impressed with how smooth the tamping surface was and how clean the handle felt. You can get a nice, even, firmly packed puck using this tamper as opposed to fiddling around with the plastic ones that your expresso machine probably came with.On the downsides, as I mentioned earlier, it's pretty heavy, so you need to be careful about moving it around. Its a two piece item, with the tamping head and handle attached by what appeared to be a rusted screw. I'm guessing it won't have any impact on the unit, but may become a concern over time as the rust eats away at the material.Overall, I would recommend this item as it outperforms the plastic tampers that most expresso machines come standard with. Just make sure not to drop it on your foot. :)

Very classy and great quality, gets the job done right!
It is amazing how balanced this very heavy tamper lies in my hand. It feels like a million bucks, lol.... perfectly smooth and heavy as it should be. And it makes a big difference to the brewing of an espresso. I have a plastic tamper, which is attached at the side of my espresso machine, and this device is really useless. It won't do a good job at pressing and packing the coffee in the receptacle. My espresso machine is the DeLonghi EC 155, which is a nice machine, apart from the not-so-fancy plastic tamper. This stainless tamper makes a big difference: The coffee is compacted well and smoothed on the surface. The brewing takes place more evenly, when I brew a double batch. Before, without it, the two outlet holes would dispense unevenly, one always being full throttle and the other dripping away, and sometimes the left, or the right, depending on how the grounds were compacted. With this tamper, you can press them evenly, so no more dripping on one side and flushing on the other. And there is a perk: if you have two espresso sizes (one cup/ two cups), you could buy a smaller tamper base and screw that on for the one cup size, too, because the base can be unscrewed. If you have the DeLonghi, you need this 51 mm size for the two cup measure. I highly recommend this tamper, at a price that simply cannot be beaten!

Sehr Gut

Brilliant addition to making great espresso
Brilliant device which looks beautiful too. I thought I was tamping ok with my plastic one but this really does make the espresso smoother with good cream. Feels weighty and easy to use. Definitely worth the money.
