HIBISCUS FLOWER Tea - lovely brew in color, aroma and flavor!
OK, first off: it's VERY confusing to see all these reviews for DIFFERENT teas on one page! Augh! Before ordering the Hibiscus Flower tea, I kept reading "gunpowder" everywhere, and went back and forth to the Hibiscus Tea page 100 times to make SURE it had none of that in the mix? Just very cludgey for us customers to get the true picture of the single-flavor tea we're shopping for. Therefore, I put "Hibiscus Tea" in the title of my review so y'all know what I'm talking about.I was quite pleased when I opened my large, zip-lock sealed bag of the Hibiscus Tea upon its arrival! Wow, the aroma from the dried flowers inside was intoxicating: like rhododendron, rose, something exotic and tangy at once. It appears that this tea is 100% dried hibiscus flowers (and thankfully no gunpowder in the mix - ugh!).I cold-brew mine: fill three unbleached tea bags with just 2 tsp each of dried flowers. Rinse each bag just a second or two with HOT water (to remove any residual dust). Drop them into a large pitcher with 1500 ml of cold water. Pop it in the fridge overnight, and the next day .... OWIE! That tea is as gorgeous and red as a ruby.I drink this tea throughout the day. It is wonderfully palate-cleansing and refreshing. I have it straight (like a fruit punch almost - even with NO sugar added), diluted with water (at bedtime) or mixed with sparkling water to accompany meals.I'd read that this tea is THE most antioxidant beverage you can quaff, so I'm hoping to feed my cells even as I please my palate. According to a study referenced by Dr. Michael Greger, among 283 beverages tested, hibiscus tea delivered 132 micro mol/serving of antioxidant. This compares to: green tea (with 36 micro mol/serving), black tea (23 mm/s), red wine (38 mm/s), espresso (40 mm/s), or even matcha tea (100 mm/s).HIBISCUS FLOWER Tea is a super-antioxidant that delivers a healthy PUNCH!

Love this brand if tea...
Davidson's teas are great quality and an amazing value. My favorite is Rose Congu though it was not available for a while. So glad its back and still a GREAT value...just so yummy...a pound of tea lasts a good long time.

Amazing for blood pressure.
Wow, this stuff is amazing. I've been struggling with blood pressure on and off for a while. I've been on a couple different meds and all caused nasty side effects (lisinopril had me coughing up blood!). I've been working with a holistic MD on more natural remedies but still strugglng. Then two weeks ago I was in an auto accident and got taken to the ER (severe right-side pains, but nothing broken, they suspect mainly just muscle damage). At the ER they took my BP and it was 200/100! They thought I would drop dead on the spot. By the time I was ready to be discharged it has "dropped" to 187/95 which still had them unhappy. When I got home I began reading more about blood pressure remedies and somehow stumbled upon hibiscus tea. I decided to oder this bag. I had to wait for it a couple days of course, even with Prime, so in the meantime took a baseline BP reading at home - 180/95, depressingly close to the last hospital reading.Anyway, the tea came. I have a small teapot that holds 2-3 cups of tea (depending on cup size) and I make a full pot with a rounded tbsp of the hibiscus. After 3-4 days I found my BP readings were now in the 156/86 to 153/80 range. Wow, big difference. Another week went by and now my readings are in the 135/75 to 127/69 range. I'm rather dumbfounded. I'm the sort of person for whom these "miracle" cures other people talk about usually do nothing at all. But in this case I can hardly believe the drop. This is only two weeks' worth of data of course, so it's only 'so far so good". Will have to keep drinking the tea and see what happens down the road.10/23/14: Just an update after four months. I love the taste of this tea and still drink a cup or two every day. My BP has continued to drop. I was on vacation in July without the tea and it shot back up to 167/98! Began the tea again when I got back home and it dropped in days to 138/86. The longer I stay on it religiously the more the numbers drop. Numbers for last few days were 115/69, 122/72, 119/70, 127/73. 125/74, 118/70.So this is a win-win for me since I love the taste also - a bit on the tart side, rather like unsweetened cranberries. But I've never been able to stand sweet tea or coffee, so perfect for me.

love the hibiscus flowers
I've gotten the one pound bag of Davidson's hibiscus flowers c/s a few times from Amazon and it has been great. A very beautiful looking product that makes a lovely, dark red, tangy tasting herbal tea. I mix it with Celestial Seasonings Tangerine Zinger and Bengal Spice for a citrus-spice flavor. This last time I ordered, I was accidentally sent Assam black tea because the bag had a barcode sticker on it (from the Amazon warehouse I'm guessing) that was for the hibiscus flowers. It's not returnable, but I was able to chat with a very helpful Amazon customer service guy and get a refund (and told to keep/donate the black tea).

Excellent
Davidson’s Organics Hibiscus tea is the best! The blend was well sifted with no extraneous plant debris. The tea is a lovely rich color, with no bitterness. It has a slight hint of tartness (appropriate for hibiscus tea) but it is pleasant, not overwhelming. The tea, whether served hot or cold is delicious. I will definitely buy it again.

So yummy and fresh!
Makes an amazing cold brew! Just mix the hibiscus flowers with water overnight in the fridge and by morning you will have fresh delicious hibiscus tea. Hibiscus is a bit tart so feel free to add your own sweetener. I use sugar but you could use honey, stevia or whatever you prefer. We prefer drinking this daily instead of commercial juices. So many amazing benefits including high in vitamin c and antioxidants. Love this company!
