Outdoor Products Ripcord Hydration Pack (Bright White)

I needed a compact hydration pack for adventuring racing where I need enough storage to carry some basic gear, food, and equipment - but still keep things light and comfortable. A coworker has a Camelbak Mule, and when I saw it I felt that it was exactly what I needed. Until I saw the price tag.My first impressions of the Ripcord are very positive. It has ample storage, one large pocket that goes the full length of the backpack and two smaller pockets at the top and bottom which are large enough for things like a wallet, cell phone, bike tire repair kit, snacks, etc..., and then one large exterior pocket on the rear under the main flap for carrying a bike helmet and maybe a water bottle. As far as I can tell, the pack is not waterproof or water-resistant - so anything in it will get wet if it rains. For a cheap bag this isn't a big problem, but a waterproof compartment large enough for your wallet and cellphone would be a nice touch.The bladder did leak when I first filled it with water. The connection point between the drinking hose and the bladder is actually a threaded screw in connection - and all I had to do was tighten that up a bit. No leaking since then. I also have a 100oz bladder for a larger camelbak pack that I have - and the larger bladder fits into the ripcord bladder pocket with no problems.Pros:Light weight, comfortable, adjustable straps, ample storage, big zippers and clips making getting things in and out in a hurry easy, sternum strap can be adjusted up and down for best fit and comfort, the build quality seems excellent.Cons:waist strap is a bit higher than I would prefer, and I would like to have a bit more reflective piping (one reflective gray area stitched at the top of the pack). some of the straps are a bit excessive - so you end up having to either deal with a lot of hanging straps off the rear of the pack or find a way to tie them up.

Overall great product with 1 complaint.My only complaint after using this hydration backpack for two weeks now is that the straps that strap to your chest and waist or very, very short. They barely fit me and I am 175lbs (In good physical shape) and have a 32" waist. I do not see them fitting anyone with a larger waist or chest than me, but I do have a bigger chest than waist.Keeps water cool, easy to use, fill, empty and etc. My water has NEVER tasted odd or weird with this pack. High quality materials have been used with the backpack. Backpack comes with a lifetime no hassle guarantee as well.Overall great product and I definitely recommend it.

I bought this Outdoor Products hydration pack last year for my cycling trips. So far I have been really happy with this purchase. I have used a few different styles of hydration pack in the past and this one is really great for I use it for.Pros:Perfect size - the hydration pack holds 2L of water which I find to be a perfect size for my day trips. I have owned 1L and 3L bags and in the words of goldilocks - the middle size is just right.Pockets Pockets Pockets - Did I mention there are plenty of pockets? You always need the storage space for bike trips. I am able to fit tools, spare tire tubes, snacks, and spare clothes in the bag without it feeling overloaded or bulky.Reflective - For those of you that are safety conscious, the whole backpack is a very bright white, and the silver is made of a reflective material. This is helpful for being easy to see on the road.The spout for the hydration pack is also nice and easy to use. I have had some brands where you have to fight with them to get the water out, or they just end up leaking all over the place. This one is great.Comfort- There is padding on the back side of the pack and on the shoulder straps that make it very comfortable even when you wear it all day.Cons:Mid-section strap - This one is just a simple thin nylon strap, not particularly comfortable, and is fairly short if you are a larger person it may not fit around you comfortably.

I have used this for over 20 years - mostly for mountain biking (approx 10,000 miles) and hiking (500 miles). The ONLY reason I bought a second one is that the plastic chest strap fastener slipped off somewhere. This has all the space and pockets one could want and it lasts and lasts and lasts...

So I purchased this pack right before I went on a 5 week trek across Europe. Has lots of pockets and can be easily extended to fit larger things in the main pouch. The water pack holds a fairly decent amount of water and is able to keep the water pretty cool for a good amount of time. The bottom of the water bag started leaking at one point but it was just because the hose had loosened, easy fix. The only con is that the water sometimes tastes like the rubber hose, but I think that may be an issue with any hydration pack. I had to adjust the external hose clip to a lower spot because there was a lot of excess hose which caused it to frequently come loose. Overall very durable (went through a lot of rough usage) and I was even able to attach a bongo drum that I had acquired half way through the trip without any complications. Good Product, especially for the price.

Great quality bladder, the bag itself is a little thin but has lots of storage for a hydration style pack.

Tiene varios compartimentos, buen tamaño, como detalle único es que la banda de la cintura esta muy cortina y llego con problema en la manguera tenia fuga pero lo arregle con cinta teflon y sin problema. La recomiendo mucho. No duden en comprarla.

Shipped fast, had a chance to use it during a run and the day was very very hot out. Worked well!
