Xbox 360 controller led mod RING OF LIGHT LEDS- PURPLE

I purchased a first set a few months ago, and my teen son tried to install them. He had no luck and we gave up on it for awhile. He recently said he wanted to try it again and emailed the seller. I was very impressed that the seller sent him a replacement set. We had purchased a new soldering iron and he attempted it again. This time it worked and found that half the lights in the first set did work also (the second set had one dim light, but it did work). The seller was great to work with and sent the set with free shipping. I will purchase more, since my son found it easier to work with the second time around. Just have patience and be careful in your work and they should work.

I ordered three different colors to mod my controllers. I put them all in and the blue and red LED's work perfectly. They are very bright. The purple lights are extremly dim. The only time that I can even see the lights is when I plug my controller in to charge. I would not recommend the purple LED's unless you have a wired controller.

This project was my first ever attempt at soldering. I watched a lot of videos showing how this was done so I felt confident that I could do it.These lights are SUPER tiny! When I first open the tiny package I accidentally flipped it somehow so that one of the lights went flying. Thankfully they sent me 5 so I could afford to lose one.But even after I got all 4 lights applied and the controller back together, only lights 1 & 4 would turn on. I opened it up again, checked and re-soldered 2 & 3 but they still didn't work. Also, when I put them in they would only light up when the charge cord was plugged into it but now it doesn't even do that. So I guess the other reviewers are right that the purple LED's are not a good buy. I guess I'll try the red and blue instead...

I had purchased these thinking they would be simple enough to install. You get 4 LEDs the size of about half a grain of sand, and I knew at that point it would be a difficult project. The instructions on the site provided with the LEDs, are vague, and don't provide any of the polarity instructions.I ended up bouncing off 3 different guides online outside of the site, and ended up breaking the LEDs in general after soldering them on wrong.It sounds like these are do-able for expert solderers. Only buy if you know what you're doing.

I got these because I loved the idea of a modded controller. It was definitely a bit more work than I was expecting, but buying a second soldering iron REALLY made it a lot easier. I got multiple colors, and the blue and red ones turned out GREAT. However the purple LEDs just are NOT as bright. We could barely see them in the light, so we double checked the connections and everything looked okay. We tried re-soldering, but nothing changed. Maybe I just had some faulty LEDs? But I've heard that purple light just doesn't shine quite as bright. Still other products I picked up from these guys worked great, although I really wish they had a way where I didn't have to pay another $5 in shipping when they're just gonna throw other colors of LEDs in the same package.

Ok so I know that these are awesome because I had a friend that has these on his. I just SUCK at installing them (not for the shaky handed or shotty sauderer) These are way cool and brighter than the original greens.

You can't even see them unless you plug controller in. And when you plug it in there really dim. Someone said there was issues with some controllers. that is simply not true. I soldered them on all 3 types of boards that Microsoft came out with and they all failed miserably. I mod a lot and found better brighter ones elsewhere for 1/4 of the price. Save your money.

It worked well and thank you for the instructions as they were easy to follow and I am glad I purchased this because my son was super happy and it was easier and cheaper to buy this and change that color than it would be to buy a whole new remote. Thank you.
