WINNER!!!! Whoever was the engineer behind this masterpiece I owe you a beer!
WINNER!!!! Whoever was the engineer behind this masterpiece I owe you a beer! Finally a kennel that can safely contain my 1 year old Siberian Husky! I became the sixth parent to this spirited (read "unstoppable act of nature") pup in the first 8 months of her life! She is the sweetest creature I have ever had as a pet ever... when I'm home. When I'm not home... her alter ego "the Tasmanian Devil" comes out to play! Prior to my taking her she had destroyed numerous kennels of various size and material and had escaped from three previous owners. Two fosters experienced the same. I have tried to be kennel free but have come to my whits end after losing an entire couch and love seat, having my pantry contents emptied (not to mention the trash) on a regular basis, and now her latest trick, she can remove an in track liner lock from a sliding glass door, unlock the door, remove the safety can from the handle and open the door to get out! Solid construction that took less than 20 minutes to set up. Strong, locking, solid rubber wheels keep this kennel in place. I'd give it 6 stars if it were an option!

WOW! This is an awesome crate!
I was hesitant to order this crate because I couldn't find a single review of it online. However, I am so glad I did! It's awesome and our dogs love it. Wait, did I just say that? Why yes, yes I did. They LOVE it. We have two labs and one of them is a rescue. She's totally mellow most of the time but when she's left alone, even with our other lab, she goes insane. We're not sure why but, Black Lab alone = holy terror. She's broken out of an airline crate, yanked curtains off the wall, our clothes off the hangers in the closets. The latest damage? Shattered plexiglass on the inside of the laundry room door, broken wooden lock we put over the french door knobs to lock them in, destroyed our Suburban's back window casing, wires hanging everywhere. Then ladies and gentlemen, along came the Cruising Companion and GAME OVER. She admitted defeat. It's hard to believe but the dogs actually GO INTO THE CRATE ON THEIR OWN and lie down with the door open. I'm not sure if it's because they can see out of all sides or the fact that it's raised slightly off the floor but whatever it is, I love it too! And Houdini cannot escape to wreak her havoc on our stuff. Thank you, Cruising Companion. You are now one of our dogs' best friends :-) and their humans too.P.s. I purchased this dog crate for $440 which is $60 less than it is priced now ($500). I'm not sure why the major increase but I thought it was worth noting.

No way she can Escape!
My terrier mix had escaped from 3 previous kennels. Not this one. I was able to put it together in about an hour with her watching me. That didn't help her. Even after watching it be put together she can't get out. I use a small lock on the handles. If not, she's able to push the bars open and walk on out. Now she's in to stay when I go to work. I should of bought this first instead of wasting money on the 3 other kennels.

BEST EVER! !
Oh my gosh, I cant believe we finally have a winner. My Lab-Chow mix is extremely bright and has terrible separation anxiety. She was a stray and then found her way to animal control where she spent several months before I found her and brought her home with me to stay. She has shredded carpets, chewed up couches, shoes, books, pillows, pulled down curtains and escaped every crate I have tried. I've been so afraid she would hurt herself. I even started taking her to daycare, but this is not something I could afford tp do daily. It does my heart good to know she is safe and content in her new crate when I need to be away. I would recommend this to everyone and wish I would have found this first!

Very impressed so far!
Took a chance by getting this product with so few reviews because it was cheaper than it's competitor and had a color option. I have not left my escape artist dog alone in it yet since we are going to be working on behavior modification for her separation anxiety, so here's some initial product information on the medium sandstone. First of all, it's more of a light gray than a beige color as pictured in stock photos. The directions were off on one step, but by looking at the pictures and by using your brain it is not difficult to figure out. The assembly is incredibly easy, just hex screws with a hex key (provided), probably took me under 30 minutes without assistance. The cage wheels around super easily! (I have some cardboard wedged under one wheel in the picture because my floor is uneven, not the cage.) I believe the dimensions of the cage are proportionally accurate. I used Amazon prime 2 day shipping and it arrived on time. The outside dimensions (with wheels) are: 37"L x 25 1/4"W x 33 3/4"HThe inside dimensions are: 35"L x 23 1/2"W x 24 1/4" HDistance between bars is 1.5"In my pictures I would like to point out that there are one or two spots on the top of the cage where it is not completely flush, but the gaps are very minuscule so I do not think it is a safety hazard. My dog is a 70# shepherd akita mix. She is a female, so she is noticeably shorter than a male of those breeds. If she were sitting with her ears erect, her ears would poke out through the top of the cage. My dog fits just fine and goes into it willingly whenever she wants but a few more inches here and there would've made it a more comfortable fit for her, although I'm not sure that just a few inches would be worth an additional $150. Regardless, I would definitely consider the larger size for any dog over 70#.Overall I'd say that I am very happy with this cage- I just wish I knew the size of the large so I could've compared it to the medium before purchasing. I will post an update sometime in the future as to the durability of the cage.EDIT: Almost one year has passed and the cage is still used daily. I must give credit to its strength and durability, it kept my dog with separation anxiety safely confined. She could not break it and therefore could not harm herself in the process. I personally believe that this cage alone made the difference in my training and completely eradicated her anxiety. She loves this cage so much now she will even choose to nap in there instead of snuggling with me on the couch! That's a big step for a separation anxiety dog- she's confident on her own. If your dog has anxiety or is tough and escapes, this will be the last cage you need to buy.Sometimes the inside of th crate gets dirty but I just use one of those disinfectant wipes and wipe down the bars. No problem. Probably needs a thorough cleaning once a year just to keep it looking sharp. The color has remained so I know the product isn't cheaply made which makes me breathe easy after spending hundreds of dollars. No paint chips, no rust. Door hinges and latches work the same as the day I opened the package.I would buy this over and over again in a heartbeat.
