I will order a 10 lb too. Well made! I would prefer the grip texture cover the entire pole, but maybe there is a use for the smooth areas for others.

I played around with it a little bit haven't really used it for anything intense. The knurling on the handle does its job but I have rough hands and it could be a little abrasive for softer hands. I got it for less than $20 which is a steal for starting strength equipment these days.

I got this as a starter and it's been awesome for my forearms and shoulders. You can do a lot of movements that engage your core, too. Simple and effective.

I have been working out off and on for about ten years. Aggressively at times, but mostly casually. I did endurance lifting and cardio with some strength training in bursts. I figured with me being comfortable with heavy weights(curling 50 lb dumbbells comfortably and benching 100lb dumbbells for full reps) that I should go with the heaviest mace. Luckily, I dialed it back and went with the 25lb. It definitely whooped me at first. I used youtube tutorials to learn basic moves but could barely get through them. Mainly because you have to control each swing or you risk kneecapping yourself or tearing something. It's been a month and a half now and with intermittent use, I'm able to control it much more easily and have branched out to more advanced moves. I feel so much stronger. I had hit a plateau at the gym and was having trouble getting motivated again, but maces seem so much more fun and rewarding. My arms have already grown about a 1/4 of an inch and my wife said my shoulders and arms are starting to show more definition. She even ordered a 10lb mace that I use for warm-ups and lighter exercises. I'll probably order heavier and lighter maces down the line once I save up more, since I can tell this is a very versatile piece of equipment. It's definitely helping me think outside the gym and now all I have to do, is walk out in the backyard and start swinging. Just make sure there aren't any pets or children around you. This thing could do some damage, for sure. Which is probably an added plus for all you zombie preppers out there.

These maces work really well for what they are meant for really works the shoulders and back just be careful start with a lower weight first

Just lovely - I've been trying to learn steel mace flow for about a year using a 5kg Power Guidance mace. I ordered one of these 10lb maces on a recommendation, and I am so pleased with it. The handle length is 86cm (the PG 5kg is 93cm), and being 10lb is half a kilo lighter than the PG 5kg. These two together give the mace a much better balance for flow work, and what has seemed like an impossible and frustrating struggle has suddenly clicked into a mind-soothing joy! Sword flairs, coin flips, ninja flips and behind the back transitions have all just suddenly become smooth and playful. Build-wise it seems tougher than the others I've tried, although the paint isn't as good (it chips off easily, but I like the look of a beat up mace). The knurling is excellent, not too rough but lets you know where you are holding the mace. I like the plastic end cap as I can shake out any rattling bits (whereas my Power Guidance one is sealed and will rattle forever). Best of all it cost me half the price of my 5kg one, so I've ordered another to try working doubles. Highly recommended!
