I own an original Super Famicom system and an N64 NTSC J model that are both modified. My HD Tv supports scart for composite signals but wanted a better picture quality for N64. Composite signals on HD tvs lead to pixel separation which make games with 3d graphics look untidy, shooters and racing games are a bit unbearable because it's hard to see long distance. The cheap HDMI adapters loose brightness and contrast, which makes Doom 64 unplayable but decent enough for SNES. I could still use the composite lead for that but wanted to see if I could get a better experience with N64 hardware. Doom 64 looked great even though I had to adjust the brightness and contrast on my TV and in dark areas I could find switches even though it's a bit darker than composite, the crosshair on Goldeneye was more solid making it easier to aim. Mario kart 64 looked amazing. This adapter doesn't upscale, but it does clean the picture quality up more than analogue signal and SNES games looked twice as better. Sometimes the audio is absent when turning on but moving the aspect ratio switch back and forth fixes it.I did some further testing, this adapter is not compatible with PAL region. Works with NTSC only.

Brought my old Nintendo 64 back to life on an up to date TV. Pleased with the deliver and product. Thankyou

Don't mess around with cheaper cables / alternatives to get old console's hooked up to new TV's. This is the best solution, trust me. I purchased about three cheaper options before this one and I wish I had found this first. Easy set up, fantastic picture from the SNES on 50 inch TV via HDMI. Enjoy!

Not bad if you just want HDMI connectivity.Tried it on my PAL SNES and PAL N64 and both worked fine.SNES did not look to bad, a little better than the RGB cable but nothing special. it did seam a little off but i cant put my finger on it.N64 same again a fraction better but nothing to make you go wow. But then again I don't think its for upscaling really.If you want to play your SNES or N64 on a flat screen tv, and not worry about the high end devices this is for you. Its a good price, works well as of writing and does as it says. Not really much upscaling but at this price you cant moan.If your a hardcore collector/ gamer of the retro variety and want good upscaling this is not for you.4 Stars as it does as it says on the tin.

Though the item arrived well ahead of its expected delivery, fresh out of the box it doesn't work at all. Plugged into both the TV and an external power source just to be sure, tested on multiple TVs of varying age to rule out that as a hardware issue. Each displayed "No Signal", and although there was sound coming from the TV (note; by sound I mean the singular 'click' noise you used to get when switching the N64 on a CRT TV), there was no signal, leading me to believe despite the seller's claims that this is compatible with both NTSC and PAL N64 consoles, it's probably either only compatible with the former, or it's pot luck on getting a working one from quality control - if such a thing exists for this product.I've messaged the seller via their contact information on their included warranty card, which I should point out lists several potential problems with the adapter (including what I've mentioned above), and offers free replacements. I'm going to give it another shot with a replacement, and then I might change this review. Until then, I can't really say I'm either happy or disappointed by the item, as it didn't work to begin with.

The image is a bit offset, but it's quite playable and definitely one of the simpler set ups for anyone using a monitor or a TV without RCA ports.Plugs into HDMI, so you will need an HDMI audio extractor if your are feeding it into a monitor rather than a TV.

Works perfect and better quality picture than my other convertor.

Very happy with the results from this adapter / upscaler.Looks so much better on a new TV.I would definitely recommend this product to anyone else who is looking for a solution.
