Not for Clinical Psychologists
The book deals with path awareness and represents the first step in Mindell's exploration of physics to illuminate psychology after Quantum Mind and before Process Mind. If you want to understand the author's development of Process-Oriented Psy, this book is a welcome step towards grasping his integration of quantum physics, Jung's Analytical Psy. and synchronicity.

Forty years of Mastery shine through
Dr. Mindell's forty years of mastery in practice and teaching of psychotherapy and processwork shine through in this book. His stories remind me of what it really means to be human, of the depth of experiences that shape our lives and our troubles. And his approach to finding meaning in them and to transforming them into something rich, useful, and liberating are right-in and profound.

Totally Relevant
This book is completely relevant to the changes happening in our world today. The more we become aware of ourselves and those around us, the more we can build communities and build bridges between communities.I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book and all of Arnold's other works on Process Work.

Fascinating synthesis
Arnonld Mindell has an interesting mind. Having trained initially as a physicist, he later moved to the C.G. Jung Institute near Zurich where he trained under the formidable Marie Louise von Franz and Franz Rilkin, both who collaborated with Jung himself. His own work has taken ideas of Jung to include the body, and how disorders in it can reflect psychological problems. He has also been cited by John Rowan in The Transpersonal: Spirituality in Psychotherapy and Counselling as one of the figures who is a presiding spirit of transpersonal psychology.Having established some of his intellectual credentials, I will add some physicists who Mindell cites in this book may object to their work being used in the way Mindell uses their work in this volume. Not least Richard Feynmann who is cited as an influence in this volume. Reasons for this will include psychological type and temperament. But this said Mindell does know what he is talking about when he mentions the physics, and my poetic soul can see what he mean when he makes comparison between "parallel worlds" and psychological states of consciousness. Some will still disagree with this also, but I leave that to you.The title of this makes parallel with Don Juan (as in Carlos Castenades writings),Richard Feynmann and Lao Tse. Readers sympathetic to Fritjoff Capra's The Tao of Physics (Flamingo) will immediately prick their ears up. Mindell uses similar parallels here when suggesting that psychological states of consciousness might be likened to alternate universes. Mindell uses this parallel in exercises to look at the path of one's life, and what lies behind illnesses and what these are telling a person.Even allowing for this, some will still say this is taking things too far. All is I can say is that some of these exercises revealed important lessons for me, that have been useful in my life. Either way, for me, Mindell is suggesting fascinating ways that insights from modern physics that can seem very abstract, can be used metaphorically for lessens in life. This approach has imagination and courage. The Transpersonal: Spirituality in Psychotherapy and CounsellingThe Tao of Physics (Flamingo)

Worldwork for process workers
I am enjoying this work, although I think Arny has written stronger material. My daughter will probably use it to better effect because she has yet to attend any Process Oriented Psychology training.
