Works well
My husband got this for me after walking into the kitchen multiple mornings and seeing me hand-cranking a small spice grinder for the bag of bean coffee my mom gifted to me. This mill quickly grinds the coffee beans with no difficulty, and I’ve found I like to grind a couple days’ worth ahead of time. There is no weird smell, it holds a small capacity and is relatively quiet. Not as loud as my food processor, for instance. The housing feels durable but the unit is a little difficult to clean because coffee dust gets into the crevices on the lid and the instructions say not to clean the unit with water. This is another reason to grind a few days ahead, to clean once. I really like that the cord stores under the unit. The white color is a little more cream (my keurig is a matte, arctic white) but it still looks good on my kitchen counter. The compact size is really great and I’m looking forward to using it for years to come. This is an excellent electric grinder, especially for the price.

Compact and Powerful
After the little tab that presses the On Switch of my old Black and Decker coffee grinder broke, I began looking for a replacement. The Same thing happened to another B & D coffee grinder about 5 years ago. I managed to repair the B & D grinder by drilling out the spot where the tab was and gluing in a small section of metal cut from a small Allen wrench. I don't think it's ever going to break again, but it's time to take it it out of active service and perhaps use it as a spice grinder. So I wanted a to find a grinder with a different mechanism to turn it on. The Dr. Mills caught my eye because of the button switch on the side. It seemed like it will be much less prone to failure. I'm impressed with the relative quietness of this grinder compared to my old one. It's very powerful as well. Using the old one with a full load of beans, I'd have to stop it and shake it, to redistribute the ground coffee so that I'd get a consistent grind, but it's not necessary to shake the Dr. Mills grinder. The coffee quickly swirls around in a spiral, insuring an even grind. The locking mechanism of the cover is also a nice feature. I thought it would be awkward to lock in place, but it's a good fit and easily slides closed,as it should! For what this little beast of a grinder cost, I couldn't be any more pleased with it!

Single or double serving grinder, works great
First off, let me start with how good this thing looks. It was well made, and has a modern design. As far as the functional portion, the capacity is enough for a single brew or a couple of cups. Beyond that, you will have to load and unload multiple times. Doesn't make too much noise, and it can grind rather quickly. Good value for the money.

Perfect, expect cleaning
This is a great little grinder for what I need, but cleaning is not so easy as it does not come apart. Have to be careful to not get appliance wet, only inside the little bowl which does not come out. I powder up a lot of things, from mushrooms, seeds, herbs, etc. Do not want the powder or residue transferring to other products so have to clean with soap and water some things after use, like mushrooms. That is the only thing that is not optimal with this product. Other than that, it's great. This is a small price to pay when it does it job as good as it does, would buy again.

Great grind
Best coffee grinder there is! Lid locks on so there is no way it will come off when grinding. You determine how fine by pressing a button. It grinds evenly, efficiently, quickly. Cats will hate the noise, it will scare them. FYI if you have cats.

Gettin my Grind On!
I bought this grinder based on the most recent reviews and saw that it had great ratings!! My main use for it was going to be for grinding flax seeds and other things, for making my own almond/oat/rice flours, so I was hopeful that once it arrived, it would be powerful enough to get the job done without taking forever. My first time using it, I actually put dehydrated garlic granules into it to turn it into garlic powder, and woah! Not only did it do in seconds, but I know I kept it in there for too long, because it turned it into dust more than a powder, lmao. Also, helpful tip, I read somewhere online that to clean out your grinder from previous things put in it, you could add in some dry rice, that helped get all the garlic 'dust' out. Next, I tried my flax seeds and it did the job!! Anyways, I'm beyond happy with this grinder already, I'm reserving it for these types of foods only, no coffee. Also, it doesn't overheat quickly, some kitchen gadgets I've been getting from Amazon lately tend to overheat and I'll send them right back, but this one is doing a great job for the week that I've had it. The only small-ish downside that I've found (and it's just a personal preference, doesn't affect it's overall performance), I don't like that you have to twist the cap down onto it to make it function. Could just be a safety feature, just like with CuisineArt Food Processors, but I like to be able to just lift the cap up off it. Not a big deal, that's just a me-thing, but I'm definitely still keeping it =) I'll edit/update if for some reason it fails me.

simple, no muss, no fuss grinder
I use this for making spices. I love creating spice mixes for ethnic foods or just my own rubs and seasonings, and like using fresher dry ingredients rather than pre-ground/chopped options and this has been great at that. You don't want to put anything wet into this, i.e. don't use it to chop up cilantro or something if it isn't already dried out, but that's the only real thing to note, and it's common for any machine grinder like this, so it's just a note, not a knock on the device. The machine grinds everything to as fine a level as I want, just pulse it a few more times to get finer grains. It comes with a brush to help brush out as much of the grains as possible into your storage container. To then clean it out afterwards, I just use a dry paper towel (never wet), and every once in a while or after I make something more potent I'll take it out to the shop and spray it with my air-compressor hose to really get any leftover spice out, but that's really not necessary, I'm just particular. Overall, it cleans out easily and with little effort. My only complaint would be that I wish the tub were removable to make handling and removing the ground up material a little easier. As is this is one solid unit with the only removable item being the lid. But the whole unit is small enough that this isn't a big deal. Still, if I were making this exactly how I wanted, it would have a removable tub. Also, the machine will get pretty warm if you run it too long. Don't grind continuously for more than a few seconds, short pulses are best. This is a problem in that you could end up getting the device too hot and some grounds will stick and slightly "burn into" the tub making cleaning more difficult. There's a warning sticker on the device telling you not to run it for too long, but it's something to keep in mind. Again, not a problem for me, but some beefier grinders can handle more prolonged grinding or can be more automated for things like coffee grinding. But this sucker is so small, if you wanted to grind a lot of product, you should be looking elsewhere. This i for spices, or maybe grounds for a single pot of coffee if you're using it for that purpose. Not to grind up a whole bag at once.

Not worth the purchase. Unless you want something that is nearly impossible to clean.
Meh. If you plan on buying this ONLY to blend coffee and only the same kind of coffee, buy it. Just plan on not ever being able to clean it. If there is any desire to blend spices, do it! Just plan on them tasting like coffee. Seriously this thing is cheaply made and there are much better out there.
