This disc is awesome!
I ordered this disk because the standard slicing disc that comes with the Cuisinart is 4mm and I have always thought that is too wide for slicing cabbage for cole slaw. I usually use my chef's knife to slice cabbage, but thought how cool it would be to use the Cuisinart. This blade is perfect for slicing cabbage really thin for slaw, and I am sure I will find lots of other vegies to slice with it! I recommend this blade highly, it fits my 9 cup "Prep 9" Cuisinart and I think it also fits in the larger ones. Be sure to check the fine print for sizes, I had to call their toll free # to get the size info.

They are the perfect thickness. I may be able to slice cold
Well, it was a lot extra to make scalloped potatoes but worth it. They are the perfect thickness. I may be able to slice cold, firm meat for sandwiches, haven't tried that yet. Also certain veggies like carrots, celery, peppers and others I haven't thought of yet. I am not sure about tomatoes; the thicker blade would be better if it works for those. What is so wonderful about this 2mm disc is I seldom made scalloped potatoes because I had to use a box grater and made a very large batch; that is hard on my fingers and tedious. For tomatoes, I do have a hand slicer that works very well. I may add a photo next time I make something. I think I mentioned this on the food processor review; I have a lot going now.

Used with a detachable stem on my 35 yr old Cuisinart
I purchased the detachable stem and blade at the same time to shred cabbage. I've used both for 1.5 years in a 35 yr old Cuisinart which has stem and blades that are NOT detachable. It works well and I am thankful for the quality and interchangeable attachments.

Great grater!
We use this disc frequently for grating cabbage fine enough to accept the marinade we use for various side dishes and for stir-frying. When we visited our son and did some food prep, we found their Cuisinart was missing this particular slicing disc. The thicker discs are not useful for fine grating so we ordered this 2mm one immediately. We believe there is a taste improvement when food is finely sliced.

just what I've been looking for!
I have been looking for this thin slicing 2MM disc to fit my Cuisinart. I made sure this model disc fit my processor and it did. The 4MM disc that comes with the Cuisinart just doesn't get those potatoes thin enough for homefries. This 2MM is perfect. I also used it for my English cucumber. It made the slices perfect to make a cucumber and onion salad in vinegar and oil. So now I'm happy. Ha Ha. It doesn't take much. But it is nice to have the utensils you want and need when you're cooking. The item came as promised and in perfect condition. I've ordered from them before and that's why I ordered from them.

Blade is a nice addition to Food Processor's "included" blade
These days many food processors don't include blades that are multi purpose, by flipping over the sides to get options. I found the standard blades that came with my food processor didn't do everything I needed them to do - ie - the slicer sliced pieces too thick so I needed an option and this item offers those options - giving me the option to make thinner slices. Note - the shredder that comes with this Cuisinart processor doesn't grate fine enough for my liking, to make favorite recipes or zucchini bread and potato latkes - so Cuisinart offers a fine shredder which I had to purchase but now my dishes come out to my liking.

Needed an adjustment
The first time I tried it,,, the chips were too thick so I layered several strips of gorilla glue tape (this tape is really strong ) making the opening about half as thick. Voila,,,, it works great. As fast as you can push that plunger down,,, whoosh,,, you got nice thin sliced potatoes. The next trick is using good oil. I prefer coconut oil but peanut oil works well also. The short version of this story is 30 minutes later I had sliced and fried 5 potatoes, drained and salted. Enough to fill one of those plastic ice cream buckets. It's way cheaper and top quality . I guess I got a little off the topic but the recipe is half the battle. I'm sure there are other ways to reduce the size of the opening but my way is fast and easy. I've used it 5 times and have not had any problems

Wish I had bought this years ago!
My original food processor did not have a 2mm slicing disc, only a 4mm disc. I found it too thick for many applications. I have used my 2mm disc for pickled coleslaw and for the tomatoes I use in bruschetta. The topping lies flatter and stays in the toast better.
