These door mats are absolutely the best on the market. The others (coir, recycled rubber links, etc) are pure junk and for decorative use only, doing absolutely NOTHING to clean your shoes.Up here in the Pac NW, I live in an area without sidewalks, lots of cedar & fir leaves and needles, gravel, asphalt gravel, and mud and dirt; all of which get tracked into the house. While I do have a chair by the door and a "shoes off at the door" policy; just try telling that to the guy who puts his shoes back on at the door and then WALKS all over the house before finally leaving.... or goes out for firewood and then claims it's too much trouble to take them back off at the door. My carpets are in a constant state of being trashed, requiring professional cleaning at least twice a year.Enter "GrassWorx Clean Machine Omega Astroturf Doormat".... finally a mat that actually cleans the bottoms of your shoes off. The best part is I'm no longer limited to the little bright green mat with that stupid daisy (which btw I always pulled off). They now also come in different "earthy" colors AND larger sizes (yea!); some even with a decorative rubber "frame".I chose this particular style mat for my front door both for it's heavy rubber frame and large size... it's both decorative and practical. It also doesn't constantly slide like the little green ones did.To sum it all up: this mat is handsome, heavy-duty, cleans mud and debris off shoes like no other brand and, like the little green daisy mats before it; should give me YEARS of use.

I live in the PNW and I am surrounded by pine trees so there are always pine needles everywhere and I am not exaggerating when I tell you I swept my floors at least 3 times a day. Of course I had a door mat but obviously it just wasn’t cutting it. I came across this one and figured I’d try it and I am so glad I did. It does an amazing job of cleaning the debris from shoes so it’s not brought inside the house and I don’t have to spend my days sweeping. Get it. You will not regret it.

So I bought 2 of the mats with no border several years ago. They both look and work as well as the day I bought them, seriously. The only problem with those two were that they pretty plain looking. This time I bought one that has a nice border around it. It is much better looking than the other two. I thought it looked pretty good in the picture but when it arrived I thought it looked much better than what the picture showed. When my wife got home she noticed it right away and emphatically commented on how nice it looked. It feels sturdier than the other two I bought. Keep in mind, that is said the other two have aged extremely well. The other 2 were a little light and would get blown around when I used a blower near them. The one I just bought is heavier and probably will not move when I use my blower. The turf does a great job at cleaning shoes. I've had mud, grass, leaves and dog doo on my shoes and these mats will get my shoes nearly perfectly clean everytime.

If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you know what I mean when I say pine needles follow me in the door! This thing keeps them under control. I have had a lot less cleaning to do in the kitchen since I put one on the back door entry. I LOVE this thing!

Update 1 year later (October 2021). I found the weak point, the AstroTurf to rubber backing bond fails and the two parts separate. I bought 3 mats, the one that is in direct afternoon sun is failing the worst, the other two are starting to show signs of de-bonding at the corners of the AstroTurf. Too bad, otherwise I loved these mats.This doormat is basically the typical AstroTurf doormat but with a very heavy/thick rubber backing and border. So if you like AstroTurf doormats when they are brand new and in perfect condition, you will like this doormat for a long time. Purchased mat in May, it is now November, there is no sign of breakdown due to full afternoon sun or mechanical wear. Not a single blade of AstroTurf has failed and no curling corners. I expect this mat will last a few years, but only time will really tell. Like it so much I bought one for my mom!

This is a great door mat. After about 2 months the corner started to pull up. Nothing a little glue won’t fix, but would have been nice if I didn’t have to.

This mat holds the dirt in it and away from the surface. Way better than bringing it into the house! I shake it out on a dry day and am always amazed at how much dirt comes out of it. You'll love it especially if you have any kind of yard with kids!

A few wipes on this gets most of the mud, dirt, grit and other nasties off my footwear, even coming in from the chicken yard. Might not be enough for very thickly lugged boots, but really works great on everything I wear. Cleaning couldn't be easier - turn it over somewhere you don't mind the dirt going. Perhaps a spray with a hose. This version, with the rubber backing, is heavy enough to stay put during high winds. In a sheltered location I might use the less expensive, not rubber backed model. Every exterior door I have gets one of these. They save my floors. They clean well but are not absorbent, which is great in rainy weather on uncovered porches, but does mean you will want a mat inside the door to dry your feet. A Gorilla Mat is the perfect companion if you have the door clearance.
