A solid piece of furniture I would have no hesitation placing this in a formal living room. It was a snap to follow the simple instructions to build, and it's true no tools required. It's clear from the pictures that this 'den' is cozy and made for calm and/or sleeping situations. I wouldn't suggest this for a young puppy; however, because a chewer/digger would scratch the finish. It also isn't my choice of kennel for feeding or daytime restriction because of the limited ventilation. I'd have given this 5 stars except I don't care for the somewhat flimsy latch that holds the door closed. It's decorative, but a smart dog would figure out this is the weak point if they wanted out. It's definitely not the best piece for teaching a dog to remain in a kennel, but it is a great solution for the already kennel savvy dog.

This item appeared to be brand new with the exception of the latch, which was disclosed in the description. The latch was broken, the rest of the dog kennel was PRISTINE. I bought a new latch for $5 and installed it, $600 kennel for half + $5!!

A solid piece of furniture. Not made of thin, flimsy wood. The lock on my model was a problem as other reviews mentioned. I simply added a second hinge lock near the top. Easy fix. It also is slightly raised off the floor which I wanted. I would not get one for a heavily coated dog as there is limited airflow, but for my thin coated breed the extra warmth is appreciated. I would order another one without hesitation.

This product is elegant, but it suffers from a very poor design.Dogs scratch, dig and chew by nature. You cannot predict (specially a big) dog after a few hours in a crate.Dogs can destroy it easily, and the company will not be responsible for the flow of their design.Don't waste your money.

Too small for a dog. Like torture.
