Bill O'Reilly's Legends and Lies: The Civil War

As a retired Civil War reenactor, I enjoyed the "legends and lies" brought to light. Well researched. Great for Civil War buffs.

I can’t say enough about this book. I live in Northern Virginia, very close to so many of the battlefields of the war. Having read this will make me several more visits to them. My goodness, what a shame our country had to go through this awful war.

Very well written USA Civil War History Book!

This book really gives a renewed appreciation as to the hardships endured that have shaped the culture we live in today.

Legends and Lies is one of the best nonfiction book series I've read. I have them all. They're well presented in a nice looking book and well researched. If you are a history buff like me this series belongs in your library.

Like all of Bill O'Reilly's books well researched.

The book is good but in a general basic history way. If you never studied or read anything about the Civil War and you wanted a good overview of what happened and how it happened, then this is the book for you. If you have found the Civil War interesting and have read a lot about the politics and war strategy then you probably know more than you are going to learn reading this book. It's good for a beginner in Civil War history and I have liked Bill O'Reilly's "killing" books but just giving my opinion that this book is your basic primer >

Recommend the 'Legend and Lies' series very much.

A well written concise and accurate history of the Civil War. Really enjoyed the illustrations in the Maps which go along way to understanding the various battles and people involved. A piece of American history that is accurately pretrade and cleared up some of the myths and the lies that have circulated for years. A well written book of history that should be on everybody's bookshelf.

Wonderful book by a great author.

A more character based view of happenings and yet somewhat leaning toward confederaacy
