The Espresso Machine I have is a basic Mr. Coffee. A typical problem with espresso coffee machines is channeling in the coffee basket. The problem comes from the "shower head" distributing water unevenly. A layer of this filter paper on top of the coffee will stop this effect and the surface of the coffee in the basket after brewing is flat, thus better flavor coffee extraction. This is my second box. One sheet will last several brewings.
