Zeiss 8x20B T* Conquest Pocket Binoculars with Pouch - 522073

Small and light with great optics. The optics excel in low light. They are a little awkward to use because of their small size but the max pupil distance is 73 mm, which is good if you need it. Because they are so small and light they get taken on hikes where I would leave larger binoculars in the car. I take them backpacking so the weight is significant to me. I have a pair of Zeiss 10 x 30's that I prefer but they but they are larger and weigh more and so get left behind.

UPDATE: Since I have owned these a couple of years.My initial 5 star like for these has turned to DISLIKE. After limited use of these the 'coating' on the binoculars is PEELING OFF. They now look worse than a cheap $50 pair of binoculars.I sent them back to Zeiss for repair. They were sent back without being repaired, according to Zeiss "we no longer repair housings for this model"RIDICULOUS! These were not abused or beat up, this is a problem in manufacturing or design. Who in the world would 'paint' a coating in the outside!I'll give them 2 stars only because the optics are acceptable.I bought two pair of these. Would I recommend anyone buy them? NO!

I purchased these binoculars, thinking that the optics of the famous Carl Zeiss name and its high price would mean a top-of-the-line product.I compared the Zeiss binoculars side by side to a much lower priced Olympus binoculars, both placed on tripods to do a fair comparison.I looked at different subjects, close and far, bright and dark. I was surprised when I did not find any optical difference between these two binoculars, no difference at all. The Zeiss unit has a better finish, is lighter in weight and has a leather case, but in my mind, it's not worth an extra $300 compared to the Olympus binoculars.

Bought as a gift for my partner he is delighted. Powerful, lightweight and very portable he uses them every day when walking the dog in the countryside

Dies ist meine erste Amazon Rezension überhaupt. Aber ich finde dieses Taschenfernglas hat eine weitere 5-Sterne Rezension verdient.Ich bin kein Experte was Ferngläser betrifft. Bisher hatte ich ein großes Fernglas (8 x 24) eines bekannten Discounters. Dies steht aber meistens im Schrank und auch auf Wanderungen wurde es meist nicht mitgenommen, da es zu viel Platz im Rucksack wegnimmt. Daher wollte ich ein kleines, kompaktes Immer-Dabei-Glas. Zwar hat mich der Preis von fast 400,00 EUR anfangs abgeschreckt und ich habe lange gebraucht mich durchzuringen das Glas zu bestellen aber mit dem ZEISS Conquest Compact 8 x 20 habe ich genau die richtige Wahl getroffen - der Preis ist gerechtfertigt.Erst jetzt weiß ich überhaupt, was ein richtiges Qualitätsfernglas im Stande ist zu leisten. Zunächst einmal liegt es trotz der geringen Größe sehr gut in der Hand. Es wirkt keinesfalls wie Spielzeug, die Verarbeitung ist Top, wie von Zeiss nicht anders zu erwarten. Gestochen scharf auch auf größere Entfernungen. Ein Nummernschild in 300 Metern abzulesen - kein Problem. Kein Vergleich zum Discounter-Glas, dieses bekommt man einfach nicht scharf gestellt. Nach wenigen Sekunden durch schauen schmerzen die Augen - nicht so beim ZEISS Glas. Man könnte hier wahrscheinlich Stundenlang durchschauen ohne die Augen zu belasten. Mit dem Fokussierrädchen ist eine exakte Schärfe-Feineinstellung möglich, ohne dass dieses zu schwer- oder zu leichtgängig wäre. Zusätzlich besitzt das Fernglas einen Dioptrienausgleich, welchen ich persönlich aber nicht benötige.FAZIT: Ein tolles Einsteiger Fernglas welches meine persönlichen Erwartungen übertroffen hat. Da ich nahe an einem Waldrand wohne, gibt es eigentlich in der Natur immer irgendetwas zu beobachten. Daher habe ich nun extra für dieses Glas eine Schublade freigeräumt um dieses stets schnell Griffbereit zu haben. Auch auf die nächste Wanderung wird es mitgenommen, da es nun Platz in der Hemdtasche (!) hat.

Sehr gutes, handliches Fernglas, passt in jede Tasche und es geht gerade noch ohne verwackelten Blick. Gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Über die Lebensdauer kann ich noch keine Auskunft geben.
