Whew! - Galaxy S7 works with this one (Thanks, Amazon, for letting me return the other 2 that didn't work)
I tried two other wireless charging docks before I found this one, which actually works. Although the boxing was identical to the others, this one charged up my Galaxy S7 on the first try. Either the others were defective, or just not designed to do the S7. By the way, it charges right through the protective add-on case (as you know, the S7 is one slippery phone!). I should have just re-ordered this thing - I had the same one before that worked a couple of years, but it kept falling off in extreme temps, either hot or cold, so I wanted to try something else. That much abuse finally caused the USB connection to wobble loose, and neither solder nor glue repaired it. I see they've changed the base to include some really sticky gooey stuff - maybe that will help it to cling to my dash so it doesn't fall off and wreck the USB again. I've thought about reinforcing the connection with epoxy putty if that starts to happen again, to protect the USB from numerous falls. I can't go 5 stars yet because it just showed up . . . 24 hours not enough for that fifth star.

Makes charging the phone seamless
This has made charging in the car a breeze. Rather than having to stop and plug in my phone, I just drop it in the dock, and it charges automatically. If I need to pick up my phone for some reason, there are no wires, and as soon as I set it down, it is charging again. This should come standard in new cars. I mounted it on the air conditioner vent, so it keeps the phone cool while charging (at least in summer). The mount is very solid. The phone only fell out once, when I got rear-ended hard enough to break my bumper. Even then, the phone seems to have fallen out gently (it was unharmed). The once downside is that in winter, the heater is on and qi charging can heat things up a bit more (especially since I have a case on my phone). I think overheating may have contributed to a reduction in my phone's battery capacity.

Works with Nexus 6, and can be modified (with extra part + a bit of care) to fit in CD slot
For the past year I've been using a magnetic mount (InfiniApps) that fits into the car's CD slot. I replaced the old phone with a Nexus 6, and wanted to take advantage of the Qi charging, so I bought this charging unit. When I unpacked everything, I immediately realized that it wouldn't work with my car. The vent clips were too large (I have a small car), and there's nowhere to use the suction mount. So, I re-packed it, ready to return to Amazon. However, I looked closely at my InfiniApps magnetic CD mount, and realized that I could make things work. That mount (like most mounts) has a "ball & socket" arrangement, where the phone holder has a socket at the back; the socket snaps over the ball on the stationary part of the mount (vent, suction, CD, whatever), then you set the preferred angle of the holder, and tighten a plastic nut to tighten the grip between the socket & ball, keeping the phone in the desired position. Here's what I did to convert this Qi charger to a CD mount. It's easier to do than to describe !! :1. On the CD mount, unscrew the plastic nut to free the socket from the ball, and pull the magnet away from the ball part of the CD mount.2. Now, look inside the "socket" at the back of the magnet. There's a little bolt. Unscrew that, and the metal part of the magnet comes off, leaving a flat piece of plastic, attached to the socket.3. Take the phone holder part of the Qi charger, and remove the little clip at the rear. This means that the back of the holder is basically (though not quite) flat. You'll see a receptacle with a little slot there.4. Now put a small bolt through the back of the socket (the flat plastic that previously held the magnet), then put it through the slot on the Qi holder, and use a small hex nut to secure it. Before tightening, apply a liberal amount of quick-set epoxy to firmly glue the flat plastic to the back of the Qi holder.5. Tighten the bolt. You now have the Qi phone holder, bolted/glued to a socket at the back; and that socket fits on the ball of the CD mount.6. Let the epoxy set fully. I gave it overnight.7. Put the stationary part of the CD mount (the bit with the ball at the end) into the CD slot, and tighten to make it secure.8. Push the modified Qi holder onto the ball, choose your preferred angle, and secure with the plastic nut.Works perfectly. My Nexus 6 (with a Spigen case on it) charges quickly, and is held very firmly in the CD slot. I have it hooked up to a USB car charger that puts out 2.4 Amps, and if I use it just for charging (no apps running), the phone charges very quickly indeed - almost as fast as with the wall charger. I used the setup last week on a 450-mile round trip, using Google navigation + Pandora. The charger didn't QUITE keep up - the phone lost about 5% per hour - but I was very pleased. Basically, left home at about 98%, drove about 220 miles with nav & streaming on, and my phone was at about 75% when I arrived ~4 hours later - plenty of juice for the rest of my day.
