I had become somewhat of a coffee snob the past several years and was looking for something different. Although I have purchased Kopi Luwak in the past, I tried to minimized (to a degree) how much I wanted to spend on a pound of coffee, usually $20-$25/lb. I thought I would finally splurge and try a Kona coffee, but came across this. I did a little(or a lot) research and hearing that Ku'a has beaten Kona coffee in a taste test and that it's "just as good" without the name recognition, I thought I would give it a go. Using a French press, I made a .5L and wow! this is some great tasting coffee. Highly impressed. Best coffee I have had in years, or ever. I was a little concerned about buying on Amazon, with when it was roasted, how long it has been sitting, but it was roasted 2 months ago, and it should be good for 3 months and this coffee will surely be gone by then, if not the end of the week.

This was my first time buying natural coffee, but I believe I’ve had it on two other occasions. First was an excellent coffee a friend brought back from Ethiopia, second was some Ka’u coffee bought at a roadside market on the Big Island. I searched for coffees with that rich fruity note, but did not find any until now. It turns out natural coffee is my favorite. I look forward to trying the Makanau blend next.

The Kau terroir is interesting and different from Kona. Unfortunately this roast is just waaaaay too dark for me. I might try a lighter roast to see the real flavor, not just "dark."

I use a single serving French press and a hand grinder. I like this coffee.

It was a gift for someone else. They said it was very tastey.

Best coffee for cold brew ever used!

Superb, strong coffee flavor, not bitter. I’m not a connoisseur of coffee. Most of the time I just order what’s on tap at the local coffee shop. I received an 8 ounce bag as a gift. Wow!

I've had the pleasure of visiting this coffee farm and taking tours, tasted their offerings and cried when I had to move out of Hawaii.The dark roast has deep flavors that are complex and provide an amazing cup/pot.If you're looking for the best coffee grown in Hawaii by a wonderful group of farmers and roasted to perfection, spend the money. It will change your world view.
