so helpful
I visit NYC about twice a year and I always use the subway to get around. I am rather directionally-challenged and have trouble keeping the various subway lines straight in my memory, and good luck getting a free map from the MTA. (It's possible but they are hard to find, and they fall apart really fast if you do get one.) Sure, you can use your smart phone to get this info, too, but I find this so much easier than all the scrolling and wasting my battery life. The bus lines are on the map, too, and although I would probably never take the bus, it can't hurt to have the info available. This map is awesome because it's small enough that I can leave it in my change purse all the time, but large enough that it's easy to read. It's laminated so it doesn't get crumpled up after a lot of use and you can wipe it clean if it succumbs to the filth of the big city. The only thing that would make it better is if it included Brooklyn, or at least the parts of Brooklyn that are closest to Manhattan.

Great subway map for tourists
I loved the size of this map. It fit easily into my pocket and held up well with frequent use. The map is up to date and is very detailed. It was a little confusing at first, but I think the confusion is more to do with the NY subway system and not the map itself. Even when compared to the DC Metro system, NYC Subway is much more complicated. I also wish there was a way to have more main streets on the map to know exactly where the stops were without cross referencing a NY street map. For instance, I was taking the green line to China Town and ended up one stop beyond where I wanted to be. But overall still a great map. Much easier than trying to lean over passengers on the train and stare at a wall map.

Better than a Phone App
I know there are a million apps for everything but Streetwise Maps are a Godsend. Super helpful and easy to read and they come in handy when your phone is already dying and you are walking around NYC and need to take the subway to your hotel! I hadn't taken the subway in 20 years (it's changed, but payment wise only) so I was a little rusty and this map was a tremendous help. I also recommend the Streetwise Manhattan Regular street map for ease of walking especially for lower Manhattan which is not such a grid. Make sure it is a very new edition to reflect the High Line and new street configuration around the 9/11 Memorial and One World Trade. I didn't use any bus routes but the fact that the reverse side has street names was also a bonus for cross referencing with subway stops.

Peace of mind for less than two bucks!
I purchased this to take on a five day trip to NYC. It is a sturdy laminated card that is scored to fold into thirds, which is the perfect size for a jacket or back jeans pocket. Also the perfect size to be somewhat inconspicuous if you don't want everyone to know you're a tourist. We did a lot of subway riding on multiple lines and found the information provided to be accurate. This little map even indicated which trains on multi-train routes stop at the stations - they don't all stop at every one!One important note is that this is small and only has room for the subways, not any landmarks, surface streets, etc. so be sure that you have another map for the other information you may need. For the price of a cup of coffee I was very pleased with this little map!

Great size, cannot wait to use it
I visited NYC this past fall, and am planning another trip in April. I had a terrible time trying to get subway information to load on my smart phone while in NY (I swear they must have cell phone jammers near the Statue of Liberty), so I thought I'd go ahead and get this map. I love the size. It is small enough that it will fit in a pocket. It is also very discreet, so I won't be walking around with a 2' x 2' map screaming "I'm a tourist!" I hate having to use the big map on the subway wall and trying to read the maps in the subway cars while sitting 8 feet away from them. I think this map will be a huge asset and I cannot wait to use it.

You want this for NYC
This is one handy map for the NYC traveler. Subways on one side, bus routes on the other. (Manhattan only) I traveled from upper manhattan to lower manhattan using it. It was my constant companion for 5 days in NYC. Folds to wallet size. Some kind of rain-proof, tear proof coating.Do buy the 7 day pass for bus and metro (It did include LaGardia, Brooklyn). It was $32 October 2015. The locals can tell you "what to do."Even with the pass, for some buses you need to print out a ticket (free). Ask a local.

Manahattan Subway Map for your pocket!
I got this along with the Manhattan map from Streetwise. The bus map side is included on their regular Manhattan map but the stand alone subway map is not so this was very convenient because of its size. I prefer to not stare at the maps on the wall in the subway cars (hey look everybody I'm a tourist) nor do i want to broadcast I have an iPhone either trying to look for directions. The lamination takes a real beating, i could probably use this a thousand times without it ripping. Highly recommended along with their Manhattan map for more coverage. Always been satisfied with Streetwise.

Ok but not the best for all uses!
This map is small. It does show the subway stops but without all the street names it's just not that great. I would say it would be ok if you basicly knew your way around and just wanted a backup. It is well made, and held up for a week traveling around in coat pockets and back pocket. I would say if you wanted a better map there are others that show all street names and numbers plus some major sights. The size is great for what it does have and I think they did the best with what size they have to work with.

Simple Little Guide
The only difference with what you get in any guidebook or free leaflet is that it's made of thicker card that easily folds to nothing and will definitely last longer.Given how cheap it is, I reckon that's a price worth paying.

Too small
Sorry this is totally useless - it is too small! I didn't use it at all - fits nicely in your purse but if you need glasses (and probably if you don't wear glasses) it is hard to see and follow.

Couldn't do without!!
This is a brilliant foldaway credit card size subway map that you can keep in your purse or pocket. I would recommend this to everyone, new or repeat visitors. I will always take mine to New York even though i have been several times it is so handy!
