Great Fun for My Kittens
I got this for my 2 new kittens. I must say that they don't play with it as much as I'd hoped. I mean, c'mon let's face it, they're cats and cats never play with what you buy them. For that very reason alone, I tossed the box out right away so they wouldn't have the pleasure of taunting me from it while I constructed this. The unit is very tall and sturdy. I assembled it alone and did not find it difficult, although the instruction can come across as vague and some screws are hard to differentiate from the drawings so I did have to take some parts off and start again once I started adding the longer poles. My kittens have already broken the mouse off so don't expect that to stay on long. The color is a nice cream color and blends well with the LR décor. The only thing I would definitely recommend is that the mouse attachment be replaceable once it is broken.

The PHOTO doesn't match the PRODUCT! :(
I ordered one pictured for the three level and it had the scoop type lounging areas but this one has a little house on the bottom. Just as others have noted there are metal things sticking up on the inside and my cat used the house before I attached it and now she doesn't. She's clumsy so really isn't attracted to the top shelf, it's a corner unit and it has to be put into the corner just right. If she doesn't start using it soon I will have to sell it somehow. The sheepy material is attractive to her. Maybe it's just that I haven't kept it in one place long enough. She's probably about ten pounds and she does fit into the house and has sat on top of it but those poles in the way she won't do that any more. Maybe I'll disassemble it and leave it in pieces and she'll be more attracted to it. Heh. Hm! They only reason I didn't send it back is because I didn't feel like taking it back apart. The reason I wanted that shorter one with the scoop type features is because my cat does not land on her feet, she's a clumsy poop and never ever tried to climb a tree.

Very well made cat tower.
Well made, sturdy cat tower. My moms cats doesn't really care much for it but she is not very playful . She occasionally goes to the top so she can look out the window and has slept in the cave part one time. If you have a playful, small cat, 10 lbs or less, this would be great for them. I have one by another company that is a little taller than this one and my cat Loves it! She is super playful. She uses all of it! All of the scratching post! She gets on all the different levels and sleeps on the top two. Hers has a cave too. She doesn't sleep in it but climbs in and out of it. She is probably a little over 10 lbs and plays hard! Hers has a hanging ball she loves too. I would suggest that if you purchase one to place it in front of a window. Cats like to look outside!

Majestic Pet 52-Inch Casita Fur for Cats ...
This cat tree a/k/a Casita Fur for Cats arrived today. Good price, all pieces intact. I put it together and set it up only to the 40" [3rd] level as the level of 52" is not sufficiently sturdy nor safe -- especially if one is planning to use it at a window [with my super kitty of 6 months of age, 9 muscular pounds!]. Seems nice enough, however. My kitty immediately jumped into the house for a bit and then, playing super kitty ran and jumped and learned that this tree does support his antics of running and jumping to the top level successfully [40"]! It simply does not allow for the friction needed for soft pads and nails....that which his old tree provide with real carpet...The faux fur is too slippery even at the 40" level. He is working on how to achieve this feat, however!Four stars because:1. the quality of the faux fur is not "rough" enough for his claws and pads so he cannot access the top level without falling2. tree is not sturdy at the 52" level but is fine at 40" ; really should have had two poles to balance the top level of 52"-- and,3. carpet would have been better than faux fur.

Exactly what I wanted!
I loved that this had a bigger cubby than normal cat trees, my girl will enjoy fitting in there to lay in there. It seems sturdy enough, but the top layer seems a little bit flimsy. We’ll see how it holds up but I’m very happy with this purchase.

Not well designed
Despite the great reviews that convinced me to buy this, I'm not a fan of this particular cat scratcher. The base is too small to support a cat over seven pounds. The level above the box is not small enough or offset enough from the level below it, so when my cat goes from the box to the next level up, the whole thing tips over. Forget about him getting onto the top level--it's nowhere near sturdy enough unless I nailed the whole thing to the floor. I also don't like the fabric on the Casita--it's plush fabric like you would find on a cheap blanket or a stuffed animal; it's not the looped carpet fibers cats like to sink their claws into. And the fabric is not well-secured to the wood so when my cat does try to scratch on it, he winds up just pulling the fabric up away from the wood. He does like to scratch on the sisal legs; but again, the whole thing isn't stable or sturdy enough for him to really get going. So he scratches on our carpeted stairs instead. Since it's way too expensive to return, we're going to build a larger base, take away the top level, and re-cover the whole thing in looped carpet fiber. FYI my cat weighs about 13 pounds.

Junk
The upper most tier broke off, so they replaced this. I'm glad they did this, but my bad for just not returning it since the same thing happened again. It didn't hold the weight of my 8 month old kitten. I tried just now to return it since this is poorly made and gave it a 2nd chance, but now I'm stuck with it since they don't consider the date the replacement was sent, only the date of original purchase. This is a piece of junk and don't recommend this.

Not stable
Not a horrible product but not really safe. The base is too ‘light weight’ and not sturdy so it is easily tipped over. I will have to find something heavy to hopefully weigh the base down. Directions were a bit confusing as well.
