Perfect Protection
This was the perfect protection for my two son's laptops. My sons could be testers for durability of any products, cause if you give it to them they will find a way, in a very short time period I might add, to break it! So far so good, these protective covers have helped them from sliding off their laps on to the floor due to the "gripping"characteristics of the material, have a cushion and many air holes in the bottom to allow the the laptop to breath and seem like if there were a mishap they would give good protection. Although luckily we have not tested the latter! Realizing nothing barring an armored case is full proof, these seem to do the trick. They are not the cheapest, but considering the price you pay for a laptop it seemed well worth it to get something that would protect them well. I would buy this product again, and actually intend to shortly as I have just purchased a new laptop and like this product.

Works great for what I needed it for
I ordered this product because I just got a new fancy laptop, and I am trying to take the best care of it as possible. I live with 9 cats (I know, it's ridiculous!!), and the only place I had to store the laptop that would be safe from the cats would get very cold, so in turn, the computer would be freezing next time I would pull it out to use it. So, as a result, I was really worried about cat hair, paw prints, and just the general weight of the cats jumping on it (the heaviest is at least 30 lbs!), plus the very cold temperature of the storage spot. Ever since I recieved this product in the mail (it came quickly, just when they said and was packaged adequately whereas it arrived in perfect condition), it has alleviated all my fears about what potential hazards or bad luck could befall my precious laptop. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the CoverTop Universal Case. I would recommend this product to anyone I know in the market for a similar product.

product looked cool, but the sizing was too small for my laptop
The product itself was cool and i really wish i got to use it, because i dont know where to find something like this else where. The problem was that the size (ordered based off display) was several inches too small so i was unable to use it. My one star is soley based on the disapointment of being unable to use the product. I can't rate the performance of something i never got to use, but if i can find one that fit my computer i'd be more than happy to try it.

It's a rubber band looking to decapitate your laptop.
Unfortunately for those who have Asus laptops this is not the case for you. I should have listened to the reviews and avoided this but I had to see it for myself. I have an Asus X555LA and it just would not work well. It is smaller than an actual 15.6" computer but it stretches because it's silicone. When I first attempted it I had to put a lot of pressure on my computer and I hated that. I don't want to feel like I'm damaging a $300+ computer I JUST bought. Once I finally got it on you could definitely tell it didn't want to conform to the computer. The lips by the screen flared out from the stretching and every time I was using my computer the case would PULL my screen backwards as if it wanted to snap the screen off. The AUX port was blocked which didn't matter too much to me at the moment, but what really bothered me was that the speakers were covered! It's hard enough to place speakers strategically on a laptop for the best sound but add this on and it's muffled. Tried watching Netflix and had to turn the volume up to 84 just to get a clear sound. I wish Asus would make cases for their computers because I want to protect my laptop at all costs but not with this rubber band.

CoverTop works well for me.
I think it works very well. Holes on the sides do not line up perfectly, but the only way to do that would be to have a cover for every model of computer made. It supports the lid. Most every Dell I ever had eventually fails at the hinges. I think this will decrease the chance of having hinge issues as the elasticity takes some of the load off the hinges. Fits tight, and helps protect most of the computer.

THE DUST ATTRACTOR
I was excited to buy this and based on the good reviews was confident in what I purchased. Boy was I disappointed. First off, the material attracts every little fiber and dust particle known to man. IF you were to end up getting this after reading this review DO NOT get black. Its like you need a cover for this cover. Secondly, (I own a ASUS,) the cover covers up my SD card reader on the bottom of the laptop and a few USB ports so the claim that this cover is compatible with ALL PC and MAC 15.6" laptops is false. The case does have areas you can cut out to customize it, but the areas my SD card reader and USBs were in were not in locations I was able to do so. Besides, all that work for cutting out your own holes (not to mention how awful it would look afterward) is not worth the $19.99.I do not recommend!

Nice product
I got the black sleeve. It was a little tough stretching this on to my Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series laptop, but it works. It doesn't close all the way now--it leaves a small gap--but that is to be expected. It does cover the speakers most of the way, but I use a Blu tooth ones anyway. Over all I really like this sleeve. It looks durable and will certainly make a great shock protector. I also like it because it keeps it safe in the laptop sleeve of my bag: http://www.amazon.com/Dakine-Womens-Brooke-Messenger-17-Liter/dp/B00HVAVX7Q/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1402587561&sr=8-11&keywords=dakine+messenger+bag. I would definitely recommend this.

Problem is solved
I have a laptop that is very smoothe and hard to grip. I seemed to have an awful hard time finding something to fit it that would make it easier to grasp This is it. Perfect fit and my problem is solved.

Undersized jacket
It looks like just the right sort of thing to protect your notebook from the scratches and minor damage that might occur from normal wear and tear. Whilst it does (just) fit my 15.6 inch notebook, it isn’t a good fit, feeling far too tight and pulling at the corners and, despite promises that it will fit on easily, it was a right pain although thankfully much easier to remove.Basically it is a silicone skin that fits around the outside of the notebook and is held in place with a small triangular overlap at the four corners (designed to prevent the screen slamming shut but resulting in the notebook no longer fully closing). The base has a series of holes and rubber feet to ensure good ventilation whilst the part that protects the reverse of the screen is solid silicone.A series of pre-moulded cut-outs allow access to notebook connectors and you are directed to remove these as necessary prior to fitting the cover, although I would suggest you check it fits first so that you can return it if necessary. In my case, I would have needed to cut through some of the reinforced edges of the case to access USB slots, which would have looked rather messy. If you are also interested in the aesthetics of the piece, whilst it has a nice anti-slip surface, if you put it down on anywhere with dust or other detritus it sticks to the silicone like glue. I didn’t find this easy to remove with a dry microfibre cloth despite the claims to the contrary. It’s probably a useful addition to protect your notebook when on the move but mine is mainly used in the office or a meeting room and I’m not sure I would want to put up with the cons even if it did fit.

Laptop protector
This cover is like a big silicone cover very much like the ones for mobile 'phones. It's a good idea if you give your laptop a far bashing. It fitted on mine very easily although I prefer the cooling vents being free of any cover, but there are perforations. Great if you take your laptop out and about; I don't really take mine outside the home. The laptop won't close with a snap and there is a small gap when closed, as in my case. The rubberised cover helps the laptop not to slip, which can have it's advantages. There are plenty of pull-out pieces should you need to access ports etc. at the back or sides.I'm not sure I would buy one for my needs but good if you bash your laptop about.

It's too tight m'lord
I got this for my MSI GE60. I won't fit. Also, it obscures the front 2 usb ports and the audio jacks on the left, and the dvd drive on the right. All in all I find it utterly useless.

Not so universal
Unfortunately I couldn't get this to fit my laptop (which 15.6"), well at least it did fit, with some effort, but it covered my USB ports so it proved useless for my laptop. I also tried it with my daughters, with the same outcome, but this time, other ports were hidden. In terms of the product itself its quite an unattractive adornment to a laptop but it does look fairly sturdy and I would think it would do the job its designed for, ie giving some added protection in case of banging your laptop, and of raising it up slightly to slow or stop overheating.
