Best Sable Brush and Best Price
Spending over $50 bucks for a paintbrush seemed a strange thing to do. Especially for a poor retired person. But I have seen Charles Reid use these brushes. Also a few days ago I saw Brenda Swenson use this one too in a video on YouTube. So I there were two endorsements right there. So I had been noticing for some time that my other size 8 brushes were gone. Wore out. So, I thought, okay I need a new one, so here I am with my new brush, the Da Vinci Maestro 35, size 8.Wow. The brush hairs and tip measure slightly over one inch in length! This brush is nearly 9 inches in length. So once you get all the gum Arabic washed out, do some tests for yourself. Holds lots of paint and water. The long tip is a dream. Best brush I ever had. Do yourself a favor. Indulge. Oh, I also checked prices. Dick B- $71.75, Jackson’s-$74.64, Jerry’s-$112.00, Da Vinci NYC- $112.50. So Amazon had the best price too.

Very resilient pointed round thirsty brush
Pointed Round for watercolor painting Maestro 35 series...size 8: a serious gem of a brush!Very pointed, slowly releases a generous amount of water and pigment onto paper with exquisite precision! Would love the smaller sizes to do very fine details, even though the point of this brush should perform brilliantly to do so too!

the tip isn’t quite as sharp as some of my other brushes
i wouldn’t put daVinci’s in the same category as the current Winsor & Newton Series 7, because those are truly awful. but i really just wasn’t impressed with the Maestro Series 11.it sucks up soooo much water and paint that the bristles just swell and completely lose any sort of point, until you drop out a lot of the water.i compared it against the Silver Brush 7500S (which costs $20 for a Size 8) and the Rembrandt Series 100 ($35 for a Size 8) and both of these brushes outperformed the Maestro in bounce-back, firmness, and the sharpness of the point.however, the Maestro does hold slightly more water than these two, so if you don’t need quite a razor sharp point, the Maestro will work for you.i am personally just very used to extremely sharp points and snappy, firm brushes, and found the daVinci Sables to be frustrating.

Good brush but not excellent
Good quality and bounce with excellent water and pigment retention, surprisingly not as good as similarly priced brushes but at the price no much too complain about

These brushes were a gift to my art instructor. ...
These brushes were a gift to my art instructor. She has used this brand for 35 years and only recommends them to her students. As one of the students, I have used them for 10 years for watercolor. They hold water well, last for a long time, smooth lines and the tip holds well.

Bristles are coming out
The media could not be loaded. Brush bristles are coming out. I used this brush not too often. It is not good quality for this prise. I would not recommend it.

Truly Excellent
One of my very favorite natural bristle rounds. This one holds a large amount of paint while still maintaining a nice point. The presentation box is just icing on the cake.

Beautiful Brush
This is such a beautiful brush, the brush head is full and the tip is pointed - it snaps to a point easily at the same time holds a lot of water / pigment. It arrived promptly and well packaged.
