The watch is absolutely beautiful and the matte silver & black color scheme is a classic, but is surprisingly difficult to find. I originally bought the white face 51-30 from Nordstrom, but returned it looking for this particular watch and they do not even carry it! I had to find it on Amazon, but it was well worth the effort. I actually saved some money even with next-day delivery. This is my every day casual watch and it also dresses up well. I find the black/silver 51-30 Chrono to be the best looking Nixon watch second only to the solid gold 42-20 Chrono, but that just doesn't seem a practical every day watch. As others have stated it is big, heavy, and rock solid. You can't go wrong with this classic.

Purchased this watch for my collection. Anytime I wear it, it gets compliments. Keep in mind that it's very large so if you're not looking for a chunky blingy watch, this one isn't for you. Although it is heavy, it's comfortable to wear. I would recommend googling this particular item, as I think it can be found much cheaper on other sites. One interesting product feature is that the knobs are located on the left side vs the traditional right side. All in all, very cool watch!

awesome watch. this watch is big like 2" big but if you have big wrist its perfect. nixon did a great job making this a bold and manly watch.it definitely gets compliments everytime i wear it. only cons which arent that big of deal is that the chrono/time functions have to be unscrewed if you want to use them. purpose is so water doesnt get in when you go swimming. one last thing is that the chrono second hand reset to the 58minute mark so it was confusing that you might have to calibrate it maually to get it to stop at the 12 o'clock position which is explained in the manual.

I've been wanting to buy this watch for a while. I was reluctant about how thick and big the face was, but overall, it's not that so bad on me (I'm a big guy, big wrist, big arm, etc). Watch fit perfect on me right off the box, like it was made for me. Didn't need to adjust or anything. Initial: 1. Box was packed right in retail box, everything looked great. 2. Comes with an extra link. 3. Instruction is wrong: The bottom button starts the chrono, not the top Pro: 1. It's really well made watch. The machine work is good, and the clasp is done well. 2. Heavy watch, but for the size, it's relatively light compare to some other high end SS watches that's smaller in size. As far as how it feels on my wrist, so I guess that's a good thing? 3. Countdown bezel. This is pretty unique and very diver oriented, which I really liked. 4. Big face, big numbers, and very clear indications. Again, diver oriented watch. 5. I like the machined looked a lot better than the high polish. The high polish just looks comical and cheap. 6. Rear facing buttons. Once again, diver oriented (gloves). Plus, it's good for when you ride your motorcycle. It's comfortable this way. 7. Precise and heavy ticking on bezel. I'm split on this, but I think I like it. Again, if I was scuba diving with gloves on, this would be something that I would prefer. 8. 300 meter - Really good. 9. Looks - The design is very clean, functional, and it's made with a purpose, which I like the most. It's not really made big for the purpose of being made big, it's made to be used when diving. In that concept and execution, this is probably one of the best diving watches in the market. 10. Standard #2 spot adjust the date, which I think was done better on this watch than most watches out there. For some reason, I like how they did it. 11. It's not subtle, but it's got some subtle design elements with the light that I really like. The flat bezel face, little sparkles on the chrono bezel, and black chrono second hand. I think it's nice. 12. Solid design ques. Con: 1. Due to it's enormous size, it will look silly if you're a small figured guy. Even on big guy, the big numbers on the face is little overdone. 2. The machine on the SS could of been done a little slower. I compared this with my Tag and it looks like they rushed machining it, because if you slow machine, you shouldn't be able to see the machine marks, and it will be a lot more brighter. But for the price, it's good, I think. 3. The Chrono function buttons are screw down. This is another way they saved money on manufacturing the watch, because all the other watch I have that's 300 meter or deeper doesn't have a screw down chrono buttons/crowns. It's sort of a hassle to unscrew two screws, considering where they're placed. Also, it's not available when diving, which defeats the purpose of the countdown bezel (to see how much you have left before you have to go up. So, I guess it just comes down to fashion... 4. The edge treatment on the watch band and the watch itself could of been done better. It's little more sharper than I'd like or use to. But this is something simple I can do at home (for the price of the watch, etc.) 5. The top downward triangle doesn't line up to the "0". This drives me nuts. But I have this same problem with my other watches, except for the really high end ones. No big deal. 6. I wish they could of done some texture on the face. It just looks a bit cheap up close. 7. I wish the chrono part was a different color. 8. I wish the chrono hand was a different color. It's black, and it's beautifully done, but not really functional. 9. Glass itself isn't Sapphire. lol. But it's ok, because if it was it would of a lot more expensive. 10. No AR coating. But if you can't tell time with this watch, you don't need AR coating, you need an Optometrist. 11. No clasp extension (which they could of had). 12. Connecting rods for the watch bands are too small on the left side vs the right side. I suspect this is a QA issue. Conclusion: Good watch at a discount. Not worth the $500 retail. The Nixon 48 seem to be the perfect sized watch, so I will probably buy one later. I will review on this.

I love Nixon watches, and this one does disappoint.

My boyfriend fell in love with this in the store but in gold, which I neglected to remember upon ordering. He actually loved it so much he decided to keep it and maybe get the gold in addition to this. For the price, the quality really can't be beat. The heft of the watch case is impressive and the design and execution is absolutely gorgeous. He gets compliments wherever we go. The watch has a high polish finish, which is beautiful, but requires a daily wipe down to keep looking pristine. Overall, A+.

Beautiful watch overall. Can't see in dark and no feature to either light up face or marks that glow.

Die Uhr ist echt super Toll ! Sie ist groß aber nicht zu schwer und ist sehr bequem zu tragen .Ein echter Hingucker egal ob für Frauen oder Männer einfach top! Nur die Lieferung ist ziemlich umständlich mit dieser komischen " einmal Lieferungsnummer" hey was soll der Quatsch ??? Da muss man extra zuhause sein um das dämliche Passwort dem Boten zu sagen??? Hört auf damit ist nur lästig für beide Parteien!

It’s really beautiful, love the finish and trim High quality. It’s big and little heavier than normal watches but eye catching. Great value for money looks better than pictures. It’s great so far , great built watch I do recommend it

It is eye turner for everyone. The kind of feeling & luxury which you can imagine, it already have. Lil bit heavy but once you put it on your wrist, very hardly you can feel it heavy. Good material and looks.
