PI164-NP1, Nickel Pin Cabinet Door Soft Close Damper, 1 Pack

awesome...my wife and i hated how sometimes we mistakenly closed the cabinets too hard. I did not know these things existed until I installed some cabinets in my basement and these things came with the cabinets I purchased from one of the big box stores. I did an amazon search for the vendor name and found them here. I ordered enough to do all the cabinets in my kitchen. Each one takes about 30 seconds to install and they work great. Wife is super happy, which means I am super happy:)

Terrible quality and poor design. The one screw design is terrible specially being that it's a slotted hole it doesn't allow for the supplied screws to be effective at hold it in place. A two screw design will greatly improve this closer. The closer itself seems to work when after I added an additional screw to the back of the housing to help hold it in place.

Got these as an add on price so I figured I'd try them. These are cheaply made, if you want to try them as I had, purchase 5% more than you'll need si se a few will not be usable. That being said, the ones I've put in that had not fallen apart earl are still working (haven't had to replace any yet). The biggest problem with these is the Mildred plastic pistons which are very flimsy, some of them were molded in a way that left holes in the sides.

they were easy to install and works fine. The most used damper started making a creaking noise after just 3 months of use (hence the 3 stars as opposed to 5)

These work, but I will say they are very brittle plastic, so don't overtighten the screws. They do come with a nice self-tapping screw, and they are easy to adjust. I hope they don't crack over time. Cheap plastic for sure.

Too bad it's not worth returning at $1.80. I guess you get what you pay for! It worked only 5 times. The 6th time I closed the cabinet door, it wouldn't work.The plunger is stuck inside the gray plastic cylinder and no longer springs out and leaking some kind of oily substance The ad is deceptive in that the only information on the quantity is a picture of a package with 6 pieces in it and its label also says 6 pieces and they say you will get one pack. However, you will only get a small bag with one piece.

Easy to install. They work very well.
