Farmington Archery Yak 60" One Piece Traditional Wooden Hunting Bow (RH Only)

New to traditional archery and the last few months I bought 3 different bows and I enjoy shooting the Yak more. It's a recurve and I don't feel any hand shock compared to my Bear longbow. If you're sensitive to hand shock which I found out that I am, get a recurve. Had it for 4 months now and I shoot it 5 days out of a week and still my favorite bow to shoot. With the price you can't go wrong buying this bow.

This is a beautiful bow, it looks solid, shoots great. BUT, I’ve only had it a month and it cracked midway through the bottom recurve. I bought one previous to this and it’s not there as well, I thought perhaps my toddler stepped on it. I don’t know now.

I bought this new from another website for slightly less than I saw it here, but with all the web research I put into finding it, I thought I would share my sentiments here.This bow looks AMAZING. From the front it looks similar to a Damon Howatt (I think it must closely resembles Freedom), and from the back it looks similar Bear bow.It fits my hand perfectly. I set my brace just under 8.5", and it shoots like a dream. Very quiet without any silencers (haven't put them on yet), and little to no hand shock. Good, smooth draw.Looking at the materials and design, I think this exact bow is sold under other brands. The nearest one I could find was the Touchwood Ibex, and in person it looks just like it in the pictures I have seen online.The stock string is ok, but after I first tried it, I was glad I had an american made replacement on hand. With the new string, it is amazing.It does not come with any arrow rest protection, so if you like a good quiet shot, spend a couple bucks (pun intended) and get a rest pad. I used a Bear rest and silence plate. I had to cut it down slightly, but it works like a champ.My conclusion: if you are just starting out or would prefer a performance level bow without the typical price tag that comes with it, I would highly reccomend this bow.

I have built a lot of self bows, shot many different kinds of bows and truly I shoot better with this bow. I really like this recurve and great price for a smooth hard hitter...really!
