Family Fare
This is a very good series for those from age 95 to age 6 and all in between. Found it very enjoyable. The characters are believable and suffer their foibles

No Problem With Disc Play
First of all I love this show although I think Seth MacFarlane could use a few acting refresher courses. Some others have stated that they have problems with disc play, I had no such problems, all discs played perfectly. Others complained about the picture/CGI were not high enough quality. I had no problems like that, the picture quality was top notch for a non blu-ray DVD as were the CGI effects. I played both seasons on a 15 year old Sony Blu Ray up convert (to 1080P) DVD player to an LG UHD 4K TV. In my opinion you couldn't ask for a better picture from a standard DVD.All the characters are great and MacFarlane shows the pull he may have with some top notch A list actors, some of the guest stars include Charleze Theron, Liam Neeson, Rob Lowe and characters from a couple of Star Trek TV shows, don't worry Scott Bacula is not one of them.Great stories, funny, dramatic, you will love this show. I highly recommend it.

The Orville is great sci fi, fun, funny and brilliant!
Long time Star Trek fan here. But after the crappy reboot movies and after the first 3 episodes of DiscoveryI watched and then threw away the DVD’s, I give up.I’d seen some previews of the Orville when it came out. Didn’t really catch my attention. Decided to buy season 1 and 2 and give it a try. I liked it from the start. Somehow they’ve managed to make good and serious sci fi, mixed with some really funny humor. Character development is good and got me attached early. They manage to go from serious and dramatic scenes to really funny, laugh out loud scenes and it isn’t weird. The number of ex Star Trek series cast members and big name screen actors cameos is impressive. I’m now a big fan and can’t wait for season 3! Ignore the critics, this is a hit and a win!!!

Hardware Glitch with DVD Disk 4, Season 1
I love the show on TV (and await Season 3). I love the show on the DVDs too.Nevertheless, there does appear to be a production-hardware issue, at least with the 2-Series DVD pack.Season 1, the fourth disk does not work when played on some devices (specifically X-Box). It does work on analog devices such as regular DVD players.Note: the first 3 disks work when played on the X-Box (as well as all 4 of Season 2). The problem is idolated to the Season-1 fourth disk.In addition, this is not a one-on glitch. I returned the box-set to Amazon and received a replacement box-set. The same problem regarding the 4th disk exists with the replacement too.I am working with Amazon to determine the best option. Once the issue is resolved, I'll update my star-rating to a 4 or 5 -- because the show itself is super. It's just the problem with the DVD hardware that is at issue.

Excellent series
I was better than the reviews stated, they said all the things I would have like to heard in the Star Trek series, very funny and inventive, excellent drama, they deal with modern day problems within marriage and relationships. Excellent stories enjoyed each and every one of them. Awaiting season 3

DO NOT BUY THE REGION 1 DVD SET! BUY PAL.
If you felt let down by the woke-SJW Star Trek of STD and Picard you will love The Orville. Although the show is not technically Star Trek It is in many ways more Star Trek than Star Trek.Unfortunately there is no Blu-ray available.WARNING: Unfortunately the Region 1 NTSC DVD set of THE ORVILLE has manufacturing errors. If you buy this set than you really take your chances. You might be lucky and get a set where all your disks play. But you are just as likely to get a set where many of the disks don't play and/or the disk will freeze several times while playing. All the disks I received of the Region 1 NTSC set played except for the last episode of Season 1 on Disk 4. It wouldn't play in my brand new, made in Malaysia $250 Sony 4k player. And the disk wouldn't play in my PC optical drive either. On another older and cheaper player the situation would be worse. The reviews here showed a surprising 25% (1 out of 4) defective rate. I ignored the reviews and payed the price. Don't you also make the mistake of ordering the Region 1 NTSC set.If you can, purchase the Region 2 PAL DVD set.You will need a region free DVD/Blu-ray or 4k player, or a laptop with an optical drive and a HDMI output. Played via VLC Player of course. Otherwise you will be stuck with a defective Region 1 set.Unfortunately I had no printer and our mayor shut the city down due to Covid-19, so I was not able to print my pre-paid label out from Staples to get my return. But the good people at Amazon's Customer Service refunded me the money nevertheless. So I was able to order a PAL Region 2 copy. A set I play without defects or issues. The PAL Region 2 set is only a few bucks more. If you look at the Region 2 Pal DVD set of The Orville you will not find one bad review complaining about defective disks. If you are a big DVD buyer, especially of British shows I would purchase a Region free DVD player. DO NOT BUY the cheap $65 region free players. The optical drives are poorly installed and they will scratch up and destroy your DVD collection. Stick to a Region free DVD player $120 and up. Easy to find on Amazon.ca. You can also buy a Region free Blu-ray or 4k player. They also play DVDs as well.DVD as 8 region codes marked 1 to 8. Blu-ray had 3 region codes marked A, B, and C. And fortunately 4k disks have none. So far!FYI: No company actually makes Region free players. It is against international agreement. All the companies agree to include the chip that reads the region codes to grant them the DVD license. All the players are second party hacked in India. Here the players are made Region free and the power supply is fiddled with to make the player multi-voltage. As in 50/60 hz. Even if they were no Region code lockouts Region 1 NTSC players (Canada and U.S.) couldn't play DVDs from other regions because the DVDs are 25 frames per second. Our DVDs are all 30 frames per second. So even if you unlock your DVD or Blu-ray player that still won't allow you to play PAL disks. Unless you have a multi-voltage player. Or one of those Phillip's players that has the chip that the does the digital processing to play 25 frame rate DVDs.

Utter crap, discs will not play in any device
(This is not a review of The Orville show, since I have not been able to watch the entire show for the reasons I outline. That said, what I have watched, I've liked very much!)This is the second copy of the show I purchased, after returning the first copy of the first season due to the fourth disc not reading on any device in my home (XBox, DVD player, PS4, PS2, or even my computer). The return went smoothly, and I purchased this dual pack of season 1 and 2 from a different seller. The case arrived cracked, and ONCE AGAIN, the fourth disc, specifically, will not read on any device. Other discs work fine (this is not a regional code issue). Going to have to return this *again*.

Amazing take on Sci-Fi
I expected this show to be “Family Guy” in space, and it is, slightly. However, from the outset, MacFarlane tackles themes and ideas that other sci-fi shows have tackled. I highly recommend this show.

I’m so glad I got this!
The picture quality is ok, it is DVD. Quite good on my 55” 4k tv in black frame, a bit grainy if it’s stretched to fit the screen. Sounds good too.The shows are awesome. Can’t wait for season 3!
