Though untraditional in its approach to teaching math, Summit Math allows each student to learn in their own meaningful, teacher-directed way. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach to math; this curriculum meets the individual needs of each learning style. My two daughters, into different grades, are using these books, and each is completely different types of learners. Both have had tremendous success not only in achieving their best math grades ever, but in truly learning the concepts being taught as opposed to simply memorizing set rules and equations. These books allow them to dig deeper into the concepts, and attach their own individual learning styles to what is being taught. While traditional textbook-type math learning has created a gender gap, Summit Math closed the gap as it addresses each student as a unique learner and not one of many learning forced to learn in the exact same manner.Additionally, because the entire years' curriculum is broken into multiple workbooks, the students are able to feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment when a unit is completed. With each unit, they are literally able to have a fresh start. The individual unit books also make it incredibly easy for the students to stay organized and stay on task when studying for finals. And, as an added bonus, because the units are broken up into individual units, my daughters do not have to carry heavy textbooks back and forth to school. Summit Math has been a game-changer for my family. My daughters have not only been incredibly successful in their math classes, in terms of grades, but they now love math, as math has now become completely approachable and has lost its intimidation factor. As a mother of two daughters, I could not ask for more in a math program.

As a parent, I value my child independence and ability to self-guide when school work is involved. My son used this entire work book set back to back. Not only it enable him to develop real deep understanding of the concepts, it provided opportunity to gradually build his confidence through solving the practice problems. This set is one-of-a-kind as it is created by a real Match teacher. The material is focused and very clearly articulated through problem sets that gradually increase in complexity. It is very logically connected and cross-references the material from previous sections. My son could work on his own and become very confident.

The Summit Math books are fantastic. My son has always been a math wiz but doesn’t always want to learn the basics before moving on to more complex concepts. These books ensure that he builds the proper foundation and understands the concepts involved instead of just memorizing formulas. This results in a deeper understanding and also enables him to move ahead at an advanced pace without skipping the proper steps or having to wait on anyone. He also likes the Summit Math books much better than any other math books that he has ever used, so that is a huge bonus.

Our son had fantastic success over the summer while working with these books. He had wanted to advance to the next level in math come the new school year, but dreaded the idea of taking a summer class in order to do so. To his surprise, this series enabled him to work at his own pace, while being challenged in a way that made sense to him. He certainly gained a more comprehensive understanding of the material and actually enjoyed his journey through the books. Highly recommend!

I echo all the reviews of these text books. These books are excellent and build from foundational math skills to more complex math problems. When my son broke his arm last winter I became his scribe. I was excited to do "our" math homework nightly and was able to relearn the material step-wise, with the help of these books. By the end of each chapter we were racing to see who could solve the problem first. Highly recommend.
