Great kit for explaining PH.
This was a great kit to help my children see the Ph of different liquids.

Happiest 9yo ever!
My 9yo daughter wanted a chemistry kit for Christmas and this is by FAR her favorite gift. Even her 11yo sister was impressed, which is hard to do. She was so excited she literally teared up. This takes common household products but includes them with quality tools and very engaging, effective lab lessons set up to build a knowledge base rather than just doing a few "tricks". It is very well designed, both girls and boys will love this, but it seems to speak to a common trait young girls have for writing and organizing. I like that she'll still have quality tools that are worth keeping long after the included supplies are gone and that those supplies are common enough to be easily replaceable. Yes, there are many great completely gender-neutral chemistry kits out there. But I LOVE seeing one intentionally trying to keep girls included and engaged in the sciences. And guess what? Boys will love it, too. I will absolutely be looking at their other kits!

Great STEM gift for young girls
I actually bought three of the Yellow Scope Chemistry Experiment kits for two great nieces. Two of the Foundation of Chemistry Kits, they can use at home, with parental supervision, to get psyched about experiments and research. And I ordered the kit on Paper Chromatography for my great niece that loves arts and crafts. I have no idea why all the cool STEM educational toys are geared for boys. I don't think it helps the girls to get one more gift that involves making friendship bracelets and drawing fairies and unicorns. Thank you for trying to light a spark in a young girls mind! I only wish I could have found toys like this in the 60's & 70's!

A lot more interesting than I expected
We do science stuff with our nieces/nephews through video chat, as a way to connect with the kids, and I chose this for one of the younger kids who isn't ready for "real" chemistry and physics yet. I honestly didn't think this kit was going to be that good - it would hold the 9-year-old recipient's interest for a while, but it seemed really simplistic, and there are only 3 labs in the book. When you consider that I have to buy two kits, to be able to do it together, I really wasn't sure about this one. But it's a LOT of fun, and I'm looking forward to doing it with the younger kids, when they're old enough to do it without in-person assistance. You get 10 sheets of paper that each cut down into 24 strips. When doing lab 1, we each used about one half sheet of paper. After reading ahead for next week, I think that the rest of the book's experiments will use a similar amount of paper, which means her two younger siblings can also use the same kit later on. If you're using the kit with more than one child, the company sells extra lab books and stuff, for each user to be able to document experiment results. We spent two hours doing lab 1. The book encourages you to develop your own experiment ideas, and we had the most fun doing those, because we genuinely had no idea what result we might get. And by the end of the lab, I could tell there was a big difference in my niece's interest in science. In school, she's at that age where science a lot of worksheets about bugs and stuff that she's averse to, but this introduced her to the idea that science can also be just messing around with stuff that doesn't give her the creeps, and seeing what there is to discover in the world.

Great kit that sparks curiosity and imagination!
My three girls love this. My eldest is 6 and she has been having a blast. The labs are easy to follow for her and she loves the aesthetic of the kit and the lab notebook. Everything is very high quality. The lab notebook is excellent and Does a wonderful job of guiding the experimenter towards asking her own questions and thinking about how the principles apply outside of the experiment. In example, after doing a few of the citric acid/ sodium bicarbonate experiments she asked me what would happen if we juiced a lemon into the sodium bicarbonate. Luckily this set comes with more material than is required for the experiments so the kids are free to pursue such questions. I highly recommend this kit!

Best science kit for young girls!!!
This is the perfect science kit for young girls to begin with. My daughter is 9 years old and I constantly catch her getting into the food coloring and trying to mix her own concoctions. We have used other science experiment kits that had good experiments but never this young girl friendly. My daughter also loves fizzy bath bombs. That being said, this experiment kit is amazing because it's not just any science kit. It combines science with fun food coloring and things that fizz. This is the perfect combination to really keep her attention and nurture her growing love of science. The best part is that even if you make mistakes using the kit, because it combines art and science, you'll still come out with something beautiful and amazing.....Colorful Concoctions! I just want to say, " Great job to the moms that created this kit. We can't wait to see what you come up with next."-Lindsey, DeLand FL

Privately Teaching for 3+ Years, One of My Favorite Resources Yet
I have been teaching for over five years and privately homeschooling select families for three years. This is one of my favorite resources yet! Almost all materials are included, except for items easily found in the house. Experiments are engaging and well-explained, and my students were able to conduct experiments on their own after the first one was done together. I am very impressed by this company.

Best Science Kits EVER!!!
I have bought every one of the Yellow Scope science kits for my daughter. We started with the Beakers and Bubbles and it has been science fun every since. These science kits come with excellent lab journals for the kids and everything you need to complete the experiments. My daughter puts on her lab coat, her safety glasses, and is able to walk herself through each experiment (with some help from mom). These kits are the one science activity that my daughter goes back to again and again. Well worth their money. We just purchased the new DNA kit and I can hardly wait to see what they come out with next!
