This is a good value pan for the inexpensive price. It is light weight and the metal is fairly thin, but sturdy enough. I use it over gas stove with a flame dispersing plate to avoid hot spots. Excellent for cooking a one pot dish on the bottom while steaming vegetables or dumplings on top.

It doesn't seal very well except that everything works well.

I have not used the product yet, there is a pin-dot dent at the inside bottom edge. I have decided to try to exchange it,..

The descriptions on Amazon are correct, especially regarding the diameter of the inner pot, which is an important piece of information of a steamer set. It's a large, but not huge, steamer for a family of 2-4, which is what I was looking for. It works perfectly and I especially like the fact that water doesn't drip on the food while steaming. The set arrived in excellent condition-- clean, no dents. I always line the steamer with a porous or perforated, non-stick liner, which prevents the food from sticking to the base. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I am a placenta encapsulation specialist and I used those pot and steamer and it worked perfectly and cleaned up with no problems. And sometimes placenta gets stuck on the pan. So this was a great product. And worth the money! (Before you ask. No they don’t just eat their placenta I dehydrate and make into powdered and pill form. ). Lol

I searched a lot before buying the steamer and finally chose this. The size is big enough for me, and the two layers fit tightly, which is great. However, when I cleaned it right after I opened the box using ethanol, the bottom of the first layer went dark. Not sure what material is used on the surface. And when I boiled the second layer, it also got the brown color both inside and outside the pot. I’m gonna merely use this steamer for steaming rather than boiling food directly. Hopefully it’s not poisonous or harmful.

I received my pot today, and immediately saw black residue around the rim of the base pot. It is left over polishing compound. I'm guessing these pots are most likely hand polished in a foreign country. I cleaned both pans with mineral spirits, (no easy task) then threw them in the dishwasher with laundry powder, (Tide). I plan on getting years of use from this steamer. But the three star rating is for all the work I had to put into getting the pan ready to use.

Kind of shallow. Looking for something deeper. Will use it
