These "I died and went to heaven" books generally follow a pretty predictable and formulaic pattern:1) MY LIFE BEFORE I DIED -- The author's pre-visit biography, generally including their childhood and family relationship as a child, "I had some background as a Christian but as I reached adulthood I tended to stray a bit." -- The kind of mundane situations and events that no publisher would consider worth publishing and no one would buy a book to read about.2) MY DEATH3) MY VISIT TO HEAVEN AND RETURN4) AT FIRST I DIDN'T TELL ANYONE. THEN I TOLD A FEW FAMILY MEMBERS, THEN A FEW OTHER PEOPLE.5) HOW MY VISIT CHANGED MY LIFE.6) NOW I SPEAK AT CHURCHES, I'VE BEEN ON RELIGIOUS TV/RADIO PROGRAMS.7) YOU NEED TO BECOME A CHRISTIAN -- ASK JESUS INTO YOUR HEART AND YOU'LL BE SAVED.8) INTERSPERSED -- *LOTS* AND *LOTS* OF NEW TESTAMENT QUOTES.Obviously, people buy THIS type of book to read about HEAVEN.Vest's book is ESPECIALLY SPARSE regarding heaven. He basically says (paraphrasing), "As soon as I died I was immediately in the presence of Jesus. I didn't see ANY part of heaven or ANYONE else. He DID show me peoples' prayers coming up to heaven. They looked like bolts of light. Then I was immediately back on Earth in a hospital room. No angels, no tunnel of light, no transport, no buildings, no other people in heaven. Just ... died -- alone with Jesus -- Jesus showed me the prayers-as-light -- back on Earth."If you're looking for information about heaven from "folks who've died and come back", don't waste your money on this. I strongly suggest that instead you get My Time in Heaven by Richard Sigmund, which is BY FAR the most comprehensive description I have found, and also Close Encounter of the God Kind by Jesse Duplantis (not available in electronic format). Heaven is for Real by Todd Burpo is also pretty good.I DO WANT TO BE CLEAR ABOUT THIS -- I'm not saying I don't believe Vest. It's just that even if EVERYTHING he says is true -- SO WHAT? "Met Jesus, saw prayers, came back." THAT'S worth an entire BOOK?

the honesty and the interweaving of scripture throughout! Recommended for anyone doubting their faith! God is love and has a plan

I loved this book. My Mother has end stage lung cancer, and I have grieved so much. I am a born again Christian, I believe in Eternity with Jesus Christ. Not because I've done anything to be worthy, but because My Savior loved me so much that he died for me. I'm not afraid to die. BUT... for some reason, I grieve so much when I lose a loved one. Also, watching my own parents going thru what they are, it has just so burdened my heart. When I read this book, it was like I just "let go" of all that. I have so much peace now. I plan on keeping this book close by, I am also ordering a copy for my parents, and my children, not to mention a couple of my friends who have recently undergone some serious loss.Freddy Vest, thank you for this beautiful testimony. Thank you Mr Vest for this wonderful Life Story you allowed us to have. I understand that God asked you to write it, and you did in a very natural and pure way. You have helped me love, want and need to think of heaven often during the day. I got to really believe that prayers are seen the way you described them while you were with Jesus. I pray more often for the dying, for anyone who needs prayers....You gave us the clear vision that each and one of the people that die, are received by Jesus with the same love and care, as if you were the only one there. I simply, loved it. Because of you, I am searching more books that contain these truths, because it gives be the want to talk about this to whom ever wants to know about Heaven. GREAT JOB!!!

My rating was because I also had an experience with Jesus coming in my room and showing me He is real. I was going through some of the hardest times of my life. Knowing He was real helped me to go to the scriptures to find the Jesus I we at the end of my bed. I fell in love with the man who died for my sins and the sins of the whole world. I love Him because he loved me while I was yet a sinner. I needed someone to take my sins away. I love Him because He first loved me. Loved this mans heart for all of Gods people. If you like books like these for the heaven and hell part you’ll probably be disappointed in this one. The heaven part is the author sitting in Jesus’ presence and love. That’s about it. Didn’t see anything. Didn’t go anywhere. A personally wondrous experience no doubt but not very interesting. 98% of the book is the story of his life and his family sprinkled with Christian ministry throughout. That’s not what I buy these kind of books for. Nothing personal against the author but if I had to do it again I would pass on this one.

I bought this book based on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered a print version, but after reading a sample, couldn't wait and because I purchased the print version, was able to download the Kindle version for $2.99. The book is very well written, an easy read and an awesome testimony. There are descriptions of his trip to Heaven, in particular the description of prayers going "up" that have help to deepen my faith, and strengthen my own walk with the Lord. I have already ordered several copies for friends, including a close relative who was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. She has strong faith, but I know this book will be a blessing and comfort to her. I urge everyone to read this book!

I ENJOYED READING THIS BOOK. IT REMINDED ME HOW IMPORTANT LOVE PLAYS IN ALL OF OUR LIVES. TO BE CONNECTED WITH THE LORD WE NEED TO HAVE LOVE. IT CAN BE VERY DIFFICULT TO ALWAYS HAVE THIS LOVE IN THIS WORLD WITH SO MANY DISTRACTIONS. ANOTHER THING THAT STOOD OUT WAS BEING JUDGEMENTAL. WE CAN ALL MAKE IMPROVEMENTS IN THIS AREA. I FEEL ALL CAN LEARN FROM READING THIS BOOK. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING WE FALL SHORT OF. THE READING IS EASY AND COMFORTABLE FOR ALL.

THIS BOOK IS SO BORING, I KNOW THAT THE EXPERIENCE TO HEAVEN WAS REAL, I KNOW JESUS IS REAL THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT. ALL THE BOOK IS ABOUT IS RODEO AND HOW MUCH THIS MAN LOVES ROPING CALVES WHICH MADE ME SICK!!! FOR WHAT HE HAD WRITTEN ABOUT HEAVEN HE COULD HAVE JUST WRITTEN A TRACT WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE EXCITING, AS WHAT HE SAID ABOUT HEAVEN WAS LITERALLY 1 TO 2 PAGES!!!! THE REST OF THE BOOK WAS CONSTANT REAPEATING OF HOW HE IS A COWBOY, HE LOVES ROPING CALVES, THIS WAS REPEATED ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE BOOK. THE DELIVERY ON THIS ITEM WAS GREAT, BUT THE BOOK ITSELF JUST FORGET IT. IF YOU WANT TO READ THE MOST EXCELLENT BOOK I HAVE EVER READ THEN READ " MY DESCENT TO HEAVEN AND BACK" BY HOWARD STORM THIS BOOK IS PHENOMONAL!!!!!! I DID NOT EVEN READ ALL OF THIS BOOK BY FREDDY VEST. FOR WHAT HE HAD TO SAY HE SHOULD NOT HAVE WRITTEN A BOOK, IT,S A MAJOR LET DOWN TO THE READER AS THE BOOK IS ALL ABOUT HIMSELF AND CONSTANT QUOTES OF SCRIPTURE WHICH CAN BE READ FROM THE BIBLE!!!! FORGET THIS BOOK.

I have not read it but seen the story on Youtube. Eventually i will give it to a non Christian.
