OMGosh, this book helped me so much I ordered several more to give as Xmas gifts to my horsie pals.I struggled with several issues with my horse “Poncho”. One of the worse problems was trailer loading or should I say “trailer avoiding”. What I thought as stubbornness on his part was really my lack of communication. Same thing with his always nosing his way into my personal space and impulsive actions. Once I understood him better, I learned how to communicate better. It’s like a naughty two-year old. They may not understand all the words but they sure know your feelings from tone of voice, body language, etc. We’re still working on things but at least (after reading this book) they’re working.

I had been having such a challenge with getting my horse to cooperate with me. I was feeling frustrated and ready to give up. This book gave me such insight into how horses think. I now understand why I was having so many problems. I did not understand my horses non verbal communication. Now I have a much better understanding. I now can help my horse gain confidence with strategies that are more appropriate! I love this book!

Lots of great information on understanding horse behavior.

I have been around horses all my life but this book has given me a better understanding of horse-human communication. If you want a better relationship with their horse, this is the book for you. Most importantly, it will help you to understand the horses perspective. So often we demand response or performance without taking the time to check in with our equine partners. This read will help you understand equine cues and communication so that together, you can meet your performance goals. It will also help your horse gain confidence in you as a better leader. Great book for the beginning horse owner and the person who wants a more enriched relationship with their horse.
