Price of admission is worth it. Efficient, effective & convenient.
The top quality diamond sharpening plates on the market. I picked this up and paired it with a 1200 Atoma plate for finishing. I use Shapton glass whetstones on my kitchen knives. I wanted to try diamond plates for their purported speed and ease on my less valuable knives. Compared to quality whetstones, there is still a learning curve to get the best results out of this type of plate. There is almost no feedback, so getting the correct motions and angles is important. I would recommend watching some YouTube videos about diamond stones/plates to get an idea of how to sharpen before you attempt it yourself. Once I got a feel for how to properly sharpen with them, I would say my experience has been fantastic. I used this 600 to develop a quick burr and sharpen in about a minute, then a 1200 to polish. The results have taken my pocket knives and steak knives from dull to effortlessly slicing through paper in record time. There is no oil or water necessary with these, and I can confirm they work great without either. This is a massive convenience and time-saver. Atoma is an expensive brand, but I am seeing that it lives up to the reputation. Price is similar to decent quality whetstones, and if paired with a finer grit for polishing, could be the only sharpening system you need for your entire collection. All in all very satisfied, just do your research on how to use. You will not be disappointed!

Superb Plate
These were recommended by Jared from Neeves knives. I’m around an intermediate sharpening at this point I used whetstones in the past for my kitchen cutlery. When. I started getting into folders I had to switch it up. I’ve heard Atoma are the best diamond stones on the market. So when i got more seriously into sharpening these were a no brainer. These are really great plates super lightweight as well this #600 gritty is an all around stone i love this grit, built I also got a course and a fin e grit from Atoma as well. These might be up there in price but well worth if you’re serious about sharpening.

The best diamond plated stones, period.
My new absolutely favorite sharpening stone brand. I will NEVER buy dmt again. I TRIED my best to stay loyal to dmt after being a loyal customer over 20 years but their quality control has gone to absolute junk, I kept getting mailed dented , chipped or completely missing coating and ruste large patches on their stones and I tried THREE other retailers not just amazon. Chinese brands have better coverage and grit uniformity than new era dmt, and these Japanese made atoma? Absolutely in a class of their own, they sharpen faster and smoother than any other syle shape or type of plate I've ever used, they have 5xmore diamonds per inch than the competition. I'm going on 40 and I have been hand sharpening since I was 9 years old , I've used wetstones, ceramics, diamond, spyderco rods etc etc etc ATOMA is my new standard, THE END.

Reliable and solid product
Top quality and simple to use. The weight of the base makes sharpening much easier. I recommend this one to round out your diamond pad inventory.

perfect stone for refining your primary edge quickly.
These are perfect. Add a base for the stone to gain some clearance for your hand and you can sharpen a knife to a razor finish in very little time.

Pricey, but one of the best you can get.
Using it as a "coarse" sharpening stone to start with it. Reprofile the blade just in a few minutes, if not in a few strokes. It's really aggressive diamond plate and you have to be careful and to not ruin entire geometry of the blade. But with a little practice I've got pretty sharp blade on my old "dead" french knife even before step up to more classic and more high grit japanese wetstones. That what is thing disigned to do, to be a flat to the last, to be a fast and precise. Still not tryied yet to get razor-sharp edge just from this "stone" alone, but it's seems possible too.

Very Useful for chefs
I have 2 uses for this item - first, as a medium coarse surface to shape up the edges on my knives; and secondly, as a reference flat plane grinding surface to flatten my ceramic whetstones. It excels at both tasks! The 600 grit is not so aggressive as to remove whole chunks of metal from your knives, but it can shape your cutting edge, set the cutting edge angle and remove minor chips, giving you a good foundation to use finer grit whetstones in the 1000-1500 range. It needs no lubricant but water is a good idea to flush out the removed material. It cuts down on any raised portions on your whetstones, giving you a pretty smooth & flat surface requiring minimal dressing with a nagura stone. I prefer this to using coarse grit whetstones, as you'll do most of the hard work on this plate and reduce the wear and tear on your fine grit stones.
