It works for finding things you get a general hit on with your big detector. If I had it to do over again, I'd spend the extra $10 to get the water proof one.

My sons love this/Very easy to use
Excellent quality pinpointer. Super accurate. My sons (age 12 and 7) have become amateur metal detectors and use this constantly. We have 14 acres that was a homestead in the early 1900s and they are finding all kinds of cool stuff. They even used their metal detector and this pinpointer to find and dig out a bullet from a hillside that had gone through the black bear I shot last year. I knew the general area where it should be and they found it in 5 minutes. Buy with confidence.

Great for pinpointing objects
Great for pinpointing objects. My wife lost her wedding ring in the yard on the 4th of July. I used my metal detector to close in on it and found it with the pro pointer. A must have for treasure hunters or finding your wife's lost ring.
