Fits the ladder, allows me better access to the gutter. We have ridiculous overhang on our roof. The V cut out is great for corners. stays on ladder well. Fittings haven't rusted after being outside for over 6 months. As others have said, the edges are stamped out and can be razor sharp. Allow yourself an hour with gloves, a file and sand paper before you attempt to assemble and use. All these seem to have the same issue, so I accepted it and left in the box until I was ready to finish all the edges off properly.

I wish I had bought one or similar, years ago. It really makes the ladder feel more stable. It also allows the ladder to be user against a corner. Clever design. The only down side is that it makes the top of the ladder heavier to manoeuvre. Overall very happy.

Ordered this mainly to aid with Christmas decorations on the home! Arrived very quickly via Evri (shock!), my initial thought was that an empty cardboard box had arrived it was so light! (yes was aware it was made of aluminium) but really is lightweight. Very easy to assemble but throw away the provided hardware and replace it with proper stainless steel nuts and bolts - I hand-tightened the first set and stripped the bolt .... not a great start. Luckily had spare hardware to hand and replaced all. (4* for this) I have a triple extension ladder and was aware this would not fit the rungs properly, easy modification to add a 3rd set of holes to ensure a better fitment on my ladder. The spring clip wraps under the ladder rung to hold the stand-off firmly in place on the top of the ladder. Now I'm 120kgs - 6ft tall and initially worried that the aluminum framework would buckle like Bambi on ice! - It didn't :) The hard rubber pads keep the ladder in place but don't do what I did and try to slide the ladder across the house .... it left a mark but I'm sure it will wash off. To my surprise, the standoff held up exceptionally well with me really testing its construction. I tested the standoff on both the corner of my house and against a flat surface which made life easier when hanging up the drasted icicle lights the wife loves. I'm pleased to say it didn't break and I'm here on my sofa writing this review and not in a hospital bed!

Good quality ladder stand off. Self assembly is easy and quality and robustness is good.

How did I live without this for so long? It has transformed my sense of safety and stability when working at height and crucially it allows me to work on guttering and soffits without having to lean the ladder on the guttering and hampering access. The spread of the contact with the wall means the ladder doesn't rock or shift when you're on it. It's light and easy to take off/on and the 'v' groove means it can straddle downpipes comfortably. I love it.

solid piece of kit that does the job. Not tried the corner of a building yet, but it holds firm to exterior walls.

Easy to assemble and seems strong. Used it yesterday and makes life much easier on a high ladder. Would be even better if there was a hook to hold your bucket. Worth the money.

I'm not a confident ladder user and needed to do some roof work. I mounted the standoff so it rested on the roof tiles just above the gutter. With the ladder at the correct angle, on my roof, whilst resting the ladder standoff on the tiles, the ladder maintained a small gap away from the gutter. It also meant I could have the top of the ladder a few rungs above the gutter level for safely moving onto the roof ladder (I attached a harness before moving from the up ladder to the roof ladder) With the ladder tied off at the bottom it felt secure all the way up and I knew it was pretty much impossible for it to move sideways. I've not owned one before, but this model is sturdy and although it is aluminium it isn't flimsy at all. Fitted my ladder pretty snuggly without any adjustments although the lower hooks are not fully in contact they would certainly not come out of position in use.
