It's handy, kind of unnecessary.
I use a wide variety of Tim Holtz products for my crafts & penpals. I love the distressed look and ordered this as soon as I saw it! It's easy to use and does what it's supposed to. I know I could get the same effect with one of my Xacto knives or pair of scissors. I do like the little circle in the middle to grip and the plastic flower pattern acts kind of like a bumper to make it easier. It was cheap so I don't regret buying it and I'll continue to use it.

Great for making your own Zentangle tiles
I like making my own Zentangle tiles out of watercolor paper but I have always been unhappy that my edges don't look as good as the official tiles. I purchased this tool after seeing a scrapbook crafter use a paper distresser on a video and I have to say, my tiles look pretty good! They aren't exactly like the official ones, but if you like making your own too and want to come as close as possible to the real thing, this does a pretty good job. The tool is very easy to use and you only need to go along the edge a few times to get a really neat distressed look.

Easier to use if you watch a video
I almost purchased this once before but changed my mind after reading the reviews. Recently I saw a video with Tim Holtz demonstrating how to use it and decided to purchase it. I have tried it out and am happy with the results. It works better on cardstock, tags, or file folders then on paper unless you can figure out a way to hold the paper on each end and the tool. I found if I ink the edges of the item I want to distress first it doesn’t take as many swipes back and forth, but I need to re-ink afterwards.
