Q: Is the cap shaper dryer friendly? Material doesn't look like but wanted to confirm.

I highly doubt it! It's sponge foam coated with rubber like a nerf football. It only maintains a round hat shape

Q: can I use this on 71/2 mans size?

I use it in mine, which are 7 3/8, and they work great. I don't foresee an 1/8" of an inch hindering your use. SIDE NOTE: These things are the best thing ever. I own 12-15 myself and have one in every hat I own.
