I really just kind of bought this as a joke to surprise my boyfriend with a laugh. BUT I did end up unironically using it one day working in my yard on a 95 degree day. It really protected me from the sun. Was a little embarrassing when the power guy came to work on the power line and could see me from his ladder. I thought I’d be safe in my backyard lol.Anyway if you use this for real, it can’t be windy. It will blow off your head. The hat part isn’t super comfortable but I’ll wear a thin cap underneath and then it’s fine. You have to really adjust your depth perception, otherwise you’re running into things. And just remember that you’re wearing it because it kept touching my back and I kept freaking out thinking it was a bug. The drawstring tightener thing broke or fell off but I was able to find a replacement easily.Overall this product is ridiculous in the best way. It’s hilarious. It actually does have some practical value despite its flaws. And it also gave me one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken. Just look at how happy I am wearing my umbrella hat.

I bought this for my dad as 20% gag gift but 80% because I knew he would love it and actually use it.Getting it closed back up is a little difficult and the material on the tie/closure area is a little flimsy. But given the inexpensive price- this is worth the money.It actually kept my dad dry while he fed his chickens during a rainstorm lol!

I received this today and of course had to put it on. First of all, I've had the little clown looking hat umbrella for years, having first acquired one as a teen back in the 70's, and it actually works. In fact I used it last week. But because it was the only "umbrella" in the car, and it was raining, my husband went without any protection. It made me think -- " I wonder if there is a larger sized hat umbrella that could potentially provide some coverage for 2 people (of course the taller person would wear it)". Well it came today - and I was "tickled pink"!!! It did not rain today so I couldn't "test" it out, but I did put it on and it's very comfortable, and I especially love the fact that it can be tightened at the chin in case it's windy. My little "clown" hat umbrella doesn't have that option. And best yet - the diameter is fantastic!!! I cannot wait to try it in the rain with my husband!!! For the price, seems like a great product! What also is a plus is the size when it's not in use. It's like having a compact umbrella - very small footprint - great for a purse! So I give it a 4 star because I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but it seems pretty durable. Thanks Luwint!

I originally bought this product as I thought it was something funny to wear but realized this thing is great. I guess it is marketed for gardening but I can see it being used for anything where you need sun or rain protection and need both of your hands free. I've used this multiple times for different reasons. My daughter plays fastpitch softball and I recently bought a nice DSLR camera to take pictures. I've used this umbrella hat to block the sun as well as the rain and it does a great job with both. I initially brought it to the fields as a way to block the sun but during one of our tournaments it started to lightly rain. Not enough to delay the game but enough where I didn't want my camera to get wet. This thing sticks out far enough to block the rain from getting on my Camera as well as my long lens.Also took this camping and it was great when I went fishing in the rain. Kept the rain off of my upper body.As for the quality of the umbrella hat it is great. Very easy to expand and fold up and is very small. The part that goes on your head auto adjusts and fits both my head and my 6 year old son's head very comfortably. The strap to put around your chin is necessary if there is any wind. But with the strap on I had no issues with it blowing off. Of course I wouldn't wear it in very strong winds.

This would be great especially for the price but the metal of the umbrella shade digs into the nylon headband. If u move ur head too fast or there's a slight breeze u can feel the metal dig in even more.

I used this umbrella on the Appalachian Trail in Virginia this past weekend for a 14 mile hike in the down pouring rain and it worked great. As I kept this in my side pocket in my backpack, I was able to pull it out and put it on in less than a minute while my friend struggled with taking off his backpack, searching for his rain jacket and then 4 minutes later he had his rain jacket on after he got soaked. While hiking, the umbrella hit several trees on the trail and it would turn my head to the side a little (no big deal) but it kept my upper body dry. Its a full size umbrella and it held up great. When I got the the hostel, other hikers were asking about it and thought it was a great idea. Just make sure to use the straps to tie around your chin to keep in on your head. I am actually ordering another one for my wife. (Never used my rain jacket My arms got wet due to use hiking poles, but no big deal).

I purchased this item because I work outside for my line of work. However, because it does not stay well on the head; your Teetering constantly doing a balancing act to keep it on. the straps keep slipping through the fastener and fall off frequently with the drawstring attachment that’s supposed to keep it on your head. Slight wind it will blow off your head and if you try to grab it, you’ll cut your hands on the metal. Parts of structure. I sliced my fingers twice trying to retrieve it from blowing off of my head with the strap. It does cover your entire body, but the downfall is that it easily falls off your head. i’m so frustrated with it that I’m thinking about returning it. Nothing against the seller itself just the product.
