Whether it's images of Gods, sitting Buddhas, Shivas, Ganeshes - they all depict a different symbolism and meaning. Traditionally, these are brought to the local buddhist temples to be blessed by the monks to give them special powers. Why wear an Amulet? Thai amulets are worn for a large variety of reasons. There is an amulet for virtually every human desire. Some believe that wearing these amulets act as an aid and grant the wearer good luck, protection, a boost in fertility, wealth and/or healing powers. In Thai culture, it's common belief that no one ever really "owns" an amulet. -Instead they are passed along to others or given as gifts throughout the years. With each passing of ownership the amulet is believed to gain positive powers and good karma. These amulets have never been worn and are essentially a clean slate. It's up to you which course they will take and what powers they will attain. Where are these amulets made? Each of our amulets are hand crafted in Thailand out of raw materials and show true character and appearance of age. - A very nice piece of functional art that can be worn around your neck or added to your own chain. Why buy these? Every amulet is hand-picked and inspected for its high detail and unique form by our local contact in Central Thailand. These amulets are shipped "raw" (just pendant) to us in Seattle, WA USA. Upon arrival, we install a heavy-duty, stainless steel jump ring and then attach it to a durable nylon composite necklace. Each necklace is hand-tied with slip-knots to easily adjust the size. This is a Vintage Circa exclusive and there are no other authorized sellers of these amulets.
