Disappointed by the reviews.
The media could not be loaded. I received a prompt refund from Amazon.I found the opening to be much smaller than anticipated. I purchased this based on the reviews that it would cut a sweet potatoes. I would not recommend this product if you looking to cut a sweet potatoe. The suction to keep it in place did not work and it was uncomfortably placed. The sweet potatoes when I finally got it to cut went flying out of the contraption. In the video you see the suction come back up so I have to hold it down. Then you see how much pressure it takes me to get the sweet potato though and it never makes it the last little bit so everything go flying out over and into the sink. Ugh.

Works but came with a defective large blade.
One of the two blades were broken when receiving. But the one blade that was fine. Did the job of making French fries beautifully. Tried to contact seller but I couldn’t find a link to let them know of the defective piece.

Great tool, but will not work on sweet potatoes
This is great for cutting white potatoes! I love making homemade French fries and this is a fun tool to use. Be sure to have something to "catch" the fries when the come out because, it will often shoot them across the kitchen! However, it does NOT cut sweet potatoes. They are too dense for this cutter and will break the device before cutting the potato.

So far so good. I use this to cut potatoes for french fries. It is plastic and potatoes are quite solid. It is still working now, but I don't believe it will be a longterm member of my kitchen. I will probably need to replace it within the year, but the price is reasonable considering.

Easy and quick French fry cutter
Couldn't be easier! The machine arrives already assembled, so all you need to do is wash the components and decide which sized cutter you want (it comes with two). You need to hook the plastic backing to the back of the machine in two grooves so that the potato will come all the way through the blades. Lift the handle, put a potato between the blades and the backing, and push the lever down. Voila--perfectly cut slices for French fried potatoes. This is a good, sturdy machine that's built to last, and it takes only seconds to use, rinse, and use again as needed.

Lack of durability
The blades frequently cut into the plastic ram as the ram pushed the potatoes through the blades, resulting in the potatoes being contaminated with plastic shavings.

Not so easy to press the handle to cut. I usually have to get my husband to do it.

I like this. I have been looking for this for a while and finally got it. I have not used it much as of yet so I cannot say how durable it is. will update when I do.
