Works Great
Have used this product twice to help preserve the top on my roadster. It’s easy to apply following directions and holds up well.

Satisfied
I use on my Corvette convertible top twice a year. It helps to repel water and helps to accentuate the color.

Two coats works well; will need another soon
My car's prior owner didn't take great care of the convertible top, and it absorbed water like a sponge. After washing it with Griot's convertible top cleaner, I applied two coats (one full bottle) of the Chemical Guys Protectant / Repellent. Water does seem to bead up now, so I'm pleased with the results. See attached picture which was taken shortly after driving in a downpour. However, some areas on the top still seem to absorb water and it doesn't roll off completely. I'll apply another coat soon, then plan to do it again every six months or so (Spring and Fall.) I chose the Chemical Guys product because the reviews in car web forums suggest it is more user-friendly than other brands. It has UV protection, doesn't have a headache-inducing odor, and is dry to the touch in just a few hours. It might be safer too - for example I'd be hesitant to use an aerosol like Raggtopp without a respirator. I did tape plastic over the windows to avoid overspray and didn't have any trouble cleaning up a few random spots with a microfiber towel. Good product!

Soaks in and seals.
My 1995 Mustang GT convertible top was very dry with some moderate cracking. I had not treated it in many years. Required two full bottles to apply two generous coats. Water now beads on the convertible roof. Before and after pictures are not really noticeable because this product dries clear. I was amazed how much soaked into the top.

Worked on my top
Used this on my Pontiac Solstice top. I did the 2 coats per instructions. It made the top nice and balck again and seems to work OK. I haven't driven in the pouring rain yet but water did bead up on it.

Restored Full water resistance to my convertible Top
Whoa, it does rain So Ca, and rains hard! I had no idea that my convertible top lost its ability to repel water I left it overnight in a Rainstorm. Results, wet interior, water puddle on floor board. After the pain in the royal arse procedure of spending 6 plus hours of drying interior, carpet and (most important) carpet pads, I discovered that previous product I bought I found was completely useless. My buku mistake, not to be made again. The Chem. Guys product was reasonably priced and highly rated. Yea, Right Heard that Before! I used the product as instructed, (Two complete Coats) with the addition of using a soft paint roller to completely saturate the second. Waited 24 hours, and just like some kinda of frigging miracle, the top was completely water repellant, just like from the factory. I even sustained a water puddle for 6 hours on a low spot and wala... no leaks. Now I can venture outside with confidence in raggtop, singing not cursing in the rain, again. Thanks Chem. Guys for an outstanding product. Written by Ron C., Lisa's Husband and the household mechanic and creative writer & Pro Photograher in residence.

Poor Spray bottle design - be careful
Applied this to my 2003 BMW Z4 last week. Fabric top. I had used a different product several years ago but this one's reviews made me give it a try. It has not been water-tested yet. To protect rubber and plastic parts I have to mask off the entire top with blue tape and newspaper (picture). The rear window is plastic with rubber gaskets and must be totally covered. So, about an hour prep time. The previous product was in an aerosol can and sprayed evenly. This is a trigger pump sprayer. The spray pattern is very uneven and difficult to direct/control. After reading the warnings, I wore latex gloves. Luckily, because I had to use my hand to spread the liquid out evenly on the top. Ended up having to manually spread-after-spraying the whole time. The result, when dry, was very even and looked really good. Dry time was long, so I waited two hours before applying a second coat. Same routine with the gloved hand spreading evenly after spraying. I recommend this technique if you have a lousy sprayer like mine. In the end the top looks like new. So, I have to mark it down for the application effort and poor sprayer. Also, I used about 3/4 of a bottle to do two coats.

After cleaning the cloth top i was ready to add the protectant/sealant. I had the 16 oz spray bottle and used the complete 16 ounces doing the recommender two applications allowing for half hr between coats. I thoroughly wetted out the fabric then waited the half hr before applying the second coat. It went well and by the next morning the top was dry to the touch. It was then l decided to watch a few youtube videos demonstrating product application. All the videos illustrated a light spritz of product to the fabric and not the wetting out as l had done. The final result was fine and the product dried out well but knowing now that l had incorrectly applied the product and l should have had enough to do several applications instead of just the one made it a very costly lesson. No where on the label does it indicate how to apply other that spray the surface and apply two coats.

Excellent produit !
