It would be a 5 star (and perfect) if it had something rigid inserted for lateral stabilization. As it is, it's still quite good. And....for the price here (I bought two).....well.....one would give it a 6 star.The best feature is the gripping of the velcro....that is the basis of a good brace in these designs. This velcro holds very tight.....a good indication of that is the difficulty pulling the straps apart when taking it off. I also like that one side is not open and cushioned.....and then on the other side, even though there is no actual cut out for the kneecap, there is a way to configure the three straps which provides customized gaps where you want more freedom of movement.So I give it 4 stars, objectively.....if you want stronger support you might want to look elsewhere. But if you want moderate support with very good materials......for an unbelievable price.....this is the brace for you.
