The outcome was pretty good - the color fairly opaque and and the ...
The first marker I tried out was a white one on a little chalkboard. The outcome was pretty good - the color fairly opaque and and the draw of ink fluid enough to not have to stop mid-word to release more ink. It did take quite more time to start the marker - I felt like I had to press a long time to get it to start writing and the felt tip of the marker got more crushed than I would have liked.I wanted to update my board a couple of days after that and tried the green next. I was really put off on how flourescent it was. I thought it was going to be bright leaf green, but it was a NEON green. The yellow as the same. Not a bright lemony yellow, but a NEON yellow. I wiped it all off again and tried the white marker instead. Hmmmm. Not working. Couldn't get it to work again despite storing it as the directions listed (tightly capped and in a horizontal position.) Fairly crushed the tip anyways trying to get it to work.I did just try the green one again and it is still working after vigorous shaking.I tried the blue one next to use on some chalkboard labels I cut out and it had a nice appearance. A nice, bright baby blue - not neon. I was able to get that one to work a second time, but it has since stopped working as well.Orange ended up being quite translucent - I felt like I had to trace over my letters again to get them opaque enough to be read on the black surface. Purple was also too clear to read without tracing over or letting the ink pool up. It is practically unreadable on a blackboard.I have not tried the pink and red ones yet but I don't have much confidence on the attractiveness or opacity of the colors.-1 star for how translucent some of the colors are on a black board.-1 star for the white only working for one use.I would recommend the Sanford Bright Sticks (wet erase markers) instead for their longevity. I only wish those came in packs of white only.

these work great! and their price is great too! (see update)
we use these markers for the marker boards at our bar. we've tried the cheap-o kind that are impossible to erase. we've tried the super-expensive kind that are very nice, but also super expensive. we thought we'd tried everything in between...until we looked to amazon for more options. this pack was about the mid-range for price, and the reviews were phenomenal, so we thought we'd give them a shot. we're very happy we did!these markers took a bit of coaxing before we got the ink flowing, but once they started going, they definitely impressed my wife (she's the creative, artsy type and is always re-doing the boards). at first she didn't like the chisel tip because she was used to the rounded ones, but she quickly came to appreciate the versatility it offers. and clean-up is as easy as the super-expensive markers we've used!these cost us $18.99 with prime. in the past, last time we bought board markers, we spent $30 for good markers in a 5-pack. this pack has three more and cost us almost half as much, and the quality is as good or better than the other pricey ones we bought last time. these are definitely going on my growing list of bar supplies purchased via amazon!***update 8/12/14***after about three months with these markers, i'm less amazed with their performance. a couple of them have quit working, but not because they've dried out. they simply won't advance enough ink through the tip to make a good line. we've tried all the tricks we can think of, but they just won't cooperate. the ones that still work, still work amazingly well though. we may have a couple defects, so i'm only going to reduce the rating by one star for now.

Best, no-leak chalkpen yet
Prior brands of chalkpens left me to wonder if a black marker board in the office was at all a good idea. Most of them leak. Some have the added bonus of dripping. I really love the ones that have ruined expensive clothing and left designs on my carpet. And none of them last very long (probably because most of the ink leaks out!).But these pens are different. So far (after three weeks) no leaking. No dripping. Colours are vibrant. Basically, they're doing what they're supposed to be doing: Writing. They may seem a little pricey, but this is one of those things where you get what you pay for.I notice some have problems wiping these off. I am not having this problem, but I can guess it has to do with the marker board's finish. Some boards have a less smooth, more porous-looking finish than others. That doesn't make them bad boards, but you will have to find the pen that works best with that board.(On a side note, I got this black marker board thinking it was a more attractive alternative to a whiteboard--that you could actually use neon dry erase pens on it. This feature has been touted and advertised. But sadly, to date I've not found a single dry erase pen made for black boards that is remotely visible. And I've tried about ten different brands. Now if someone could make a dry erase pen that looks as brilliant as these wet erase chalkpens, I'd be a very happy scribbler.)

Love them!!
Love them! I purchased them to make a first day of school sign for my son. I loved the vibrant bright colors! Yes- they do take a while to prep. Seriously don't give up. I received emails from the seller on how to prep these, and if I needed help- they gave me a few ways to contact them. But once I followed the EASY instructions, it worked perfect! The only super small issue is the white "marker" part tends to slip out the end of the marker, but I just slide it in and it works fine!Since- I have used them to make chalk labels for my pantry, and name plaques for my kids locker area. I have not used these on anything other than blackboard. But they do wipe off super easily with a wet paper towel. If I ever use these all up I WILL order them again from here. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!Never thought I would use chalk markers instead of simple chalk... but these look so much cleaner- and don't rub off with a simple swipe of the hand like normal chalk would.
