This welding jacket has worked very well for me. I am only just starting to learn how to weld, so I do not have a lot of experience with other types of welding jackets, but this does everything I need. I like that the leather sleeves provide very good protection against weld splatter and accidental brushes against hot parts. They are however very warm (kind of the nature of welding though). The fabric chest and body portion does help to cool the overall jacket down. It is fall time right now, but I might have to buy an additional jacket for summer time, which wouldn't be nearly as protective, but a little cooler. They are fairly true to size, if not a little big. However I normally wear a large, and the only option was XL. I figured the extra space wouldn't hurt for the ability to wear layers underneath during the winter time, and it certainly will allow for that. I am 6'4" tall, and the majority of my height comes from my torso. I was very happy to find out that the length is very reasonable. It will reach well below my belt level, which is very rare for me. All sewn seams are very well done, and look like I will not have to worry about any of them falling apart. The only change I would look for next time would be the addition of some "hand pockets" for the storage of pliers or other small hand tools. It does have a pencil pocket on each sleeve, which can be very handy, but the ability to have a couple small tools would be ideal (but not a requirement). I would highly recommend this jacket, especially for the big and tall welder.

Great jacket. Runs a little bit cooler than a full leather jacket. If you are doing some heavy welding out of position the full leather may be a better option. As with all FR coated cotton you will get some burn through. Love this jacket keeps my arms safe from slag and sparks.

Love the jacket! Using it for welding class and have been burning 5 lbs of stick every few days practicing and the jacket is holding up perfectly. Only small quibble is that I wish the front collar was a bit higher and enclosed more fully like they have in their all cotton jackets as every once in a while a spark or slag goes down the front. This...builds character. Other than that, it is holding up beautifully and definitely protects your arms from hot plates and sparks. Will order again when it wears out.

Nice "combo" jacket with enough protection or arms and airflow through fabric on torso. Recently gave it quite a workout with many hours of overhead stick welding and leather arms worked well with no burn through. Did burn a few holes in the torso fabric, but this is not unexpected. If it will stand up to overhead stick...other positions will be a breeze. Would buy again.

I like the way it fits keeps you protected and not as hot as a full leather jacket but protects your arms from being burned easily also worth the money

Definitely keeps the sparks from burning through the sleeves. Only complaint is the pen pockets on the arms should be deeper.

In my opinion, these are the best all round welding jackets. The light weight of cotton on your body with the protection of leather on your arms were to need it most.

Shipping was pretty fast and the jacket fits great. I look forward to putting this jacket to use, my old one has long since seen it's better days and this one is one size larger than my old one. Fits great and allows for lots of movement, a little bit lighter as well.
