Lots of Love and good food.
Dr. Goldner’s Goodbye Lupus has been life-changing for me, both physically and mentally. The book offers a powerful approach to healing, and I've seen incredible improvements in my health. One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning not to fear healthy fats like avocado, chia seeds, and flax, which are essential to the healing process. Dr. Goldner's guidance is clear, practical, and rooted in her personal experience, making it easy to follow. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for hope and a holistic way to reclaim their health!

Heal your body with raw plant based foods
Enjoyed the book from the beginning to the end. Enough details about her Lupus health problems and treatments. But, not overwhelming. Discovery of a plant based eating habit provides the nutrition needed to produce a remission and, to eventually, result in a complete blood work that didn't indicate any existence of Lupus at all. She's been able to have two children and carry on a busy career without any clinical signs of ever having Lupus. There are other books by Dr. John McDougall and Dr. Caldwell Esseltyne that go into the clinical and academic eating patterns to eliminate all kinds of meat and dairy and they have numerous cook books out. I feel that Dr. Goldner covers what is important to her without having to go into detail on the cooking and preparation of the plant based program. She does give several recipes on what she found important. And, something different from the philosophy of Fork Over Knives is that she explains that someone can benefit from the program without going hard core into the eating restrictions and allowances. She thinks that when someone begins to feel better from what they've tried so far, they might take up the complete plant based program. The Forks over Knives program is strict in compliance because the grant program took critically ill cardiac patients who needed a quick long lasting health program. Dr. Goldner's patients, for the most part, are able to work into the program or go into it immediately. Nutrition is the key to good health for everyone. The Western diet is loaded with fats, processed foods, dairy and cheese, fried foods and nothing that really adds to the bodily needs for solid, out of the ground nutritious raw foods. So practical and easy to understand for everyone. I think it's a wonderful way to start on the program unless you are in need of a quick intervention and can use the strict eating program in conjunction with the medical treatments.

New beginning!
This book has a lot of great information in it. I have several autoimmune diseases, and I'm looking to improve my quality of life and I know it begins with a diet change. I hope to see results in the coming months!

Straight forward autobiography full of hope
Inspirational autobiography of how a medical student went from being so sick with Lupus, kidney disease and blood clots and became well again all thanks to a healthy diet that removes inflammatory foods and piles in healthy foods. I was given hope from reading her story and tried to follow her steps myself and I am happy to report that my fatigue has gotten so much better (still have bad days but I am not in bed all day anymore), my facial redness is lessening, and my joint pain is going away. I still have slip ups in my diet and I am still seeing results.It is a rather short book. I was expecting a much more text but it is good that the author is straight to the point. quick and does not ramble on. I have hope that since one person can conquer Lupus, I can too. Join us! :-)

Giving goodbye, lupus books to friends and family
This is an awesome book. I am awesome author, who has discovered how to reverse lupus in herself and others as well as other autoimmune diseases, which is also helping other problems in our bodies besides that with just diet and exercise the best things in life, I will be giving this book also is helping me so it is one of my gifts to all my friends.

Vegan approach is good but there are better things
I would like to be clear that I have autoimmune problems, tried earlier paleo diet and failed it because had carbs cravings. The same situation was with vege diet based on Dr G materials (not only this book, other highly paid ones too) after 6 months. You might think that I can't stick to anything and this is the problem. Well Yes but after a lot of research I think that in general diet coaches and the entire industry completely miss the environment factor for each of the person. People tell You what to eat but do not care where You live and how You live which is insane. I really tried hard for paleo and vege diet and had some positive effects, but mostly from cutting refined sugars, cookies and junk foods. I think many people could releate to my situation so fro free I will tell You what You miss and Your coaches.Environment is the key, listen to video "A Mitochondrial Etiology of Common Complex Diseases" by medical researcher Douglas C. Wallace, Ph.D. Director, Center for Mitochondrial and Epigenomic Medicine (CMEM) Professor, Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. This is what most gurus miss about mitohondria problems is the reason and source of current popular diseases!Also listen "Why the Sun is Necessary for Optimal Health" video by ) Alexander Wunsch, MD, Wismar University of Applied Sciences who describes that sun is the key for our health.Most people today sit in fake light that mostly is "blue light" that makes to us fake signal for 18 hours at work and home that our body should work in 100% mode which in long run damages melatonian levels production and mitohondria repair! Yes mitohondria repeair is crucial for all bode cells to produce more energy so all organs and parts of the body wil work better. Guess what those carbs cravings are because body is exhausted and mitohondria requires carbs as quick way to produce required energy but also it is signal that they are weak. Why they are weak ? because we all have problems sleeping because of lack of melatonin. And no taking melatonin in pills will not help because You need true sun to get into your eye (no glasses) so all receptors will get UV and start to produce ana balance the hormone levels! Don't waste Your moneys as I do. Buy blue blocking glasses, take sun baths (if you burn just be sure to get cold wather baths), eat season foods! If You as me live in north of earth with cold winters you don't have chance to sustain vege diet, because of temeperature and your environment that determines what your body expects. Yes I felt better on vege during summer because it is natural time for more fresh vegis, but in winter? In winter You like your ancestors ate fish and fatty meat and also they were hunting in sun and were expressed to cold!I like Dr G. she makes good job but to be vege in Texas when temperatures are much higher that in north of globe is easier and closer to way people live in equator. Because of her and other Doctors I researched a lot and started to take care of myself, but what works for someone will not work for everyone.If You are sick, educate Yourself first and look and environment. Mostly You are exposed to fake lights and other signals that create confusion in Your body and finally damage. Any amount of vegis or paleo food will not cure You, because You are still in same environment! You can change some things like blocking blue light glasses, limiting cell phone usage and eating seasonally (like would Your ancestors houndreds of years ago) and You will see difference like me.
