Outward Hound Kyjen Designer Dog Rain Jacket, X-Small, Red Clay and Java

I have had Outward Hound jackets for over 15 years. I still have my original one, which had a better design than the current one, including pockets on the sides of the jacket. They changed to the current design a few years ago. It's a great jacket but will get waterlogged eventually if you do not treat it with fabric waterproofer. Wash it first with Grangers waterproofing cleaner, then when it's wet spray with Grangers fabric waterproofer and dry on warm for about 15 minutes (do this to your own rain shells also!). My only beef with this XL is that it is too big and long for my dog, whereas the large is too short for him. He is a long German Shepherd/Collie mix, about 75 lbs. He is 28 inches from the back of neck to the start of the tail. the large is about 25 inches when it's pulled up all the way on the dog like it's supposed to be. The XL is about 32 inches long. I have to return or sell one of the two jackets I got at a very good price. I am going to try and alter the remaining jacket since I paid so little for it.

This is the 6th Outward Hound Rain coat/rain jacket I have purchased for my 110 lb. Rottweiler. Since we have a lot of rain in the Pacific NW so I use the jacket frequently. The jacket/coat work for more than one season but I like to buy new ones every year for my dog. When the others go to Goodwill the are in good condition.. The first 4 were rain coats and while they covered the sides better the new design has improved on the under belly strap and collar. I bought another rain Jacket last season and paid about twice what I paid for this product. I waited too long and could have bought it for $2. 50 less but the price was still cheap compared to the previous coats. The free shipping was an added bonus. I like the vendor who I also bought a rain jacket for my daughter's Mini Aussie about half of what I paid for this jacket. Amazon has the best vendors and prices for this product.

Really cute & matched the booties I bought for my puppy. This girth fits great but the velcro on the neck strap is kinda short /snug & will not stick. My dog pulls when he's excited, the neck lets go & the whole thing rides back on him. Such a bummer! I don't know if this happens with others or mine is defective as the length & girth fit so well. I have tried it several times in the rain so can't return. My puppy is 18-19" girth, 13-14" length (neck to tail) & he wears a size 12" collar but buckled in the 2nd hole - weighs 15lbs.

this rain coat is ok. it does protect our little guy from the rain on his back. the sizing is a little off so make sure to measure your dog. we ended up a little short - and then the coat seemed to shrink after we washed it. our dog still gets all wet underneath and on the sides though from water splashing upwards (not sure if any rain coat would stop that though). We still have to give him a good towel dry before he comes back in the house. if you know of any better rain coats for dogs let me know but for now this will have to do!

I have a 6.5# Toy Poodle and live in SE Alaska. I have purchased at least 6 rain jackets and this one is by far the best one I have found. It fits her better and has kept her drier than any others I have purchased. I used it year round for about two years and just bought another one as it finally cracked out. I do put a thin Thundershirt under it and she stays warmer, drier and more comfortable. I bought the XS blue/grey. I do cut off the back leg straps as she does not like them and the jacket stays put just fine without them. It is not Waterproof, but better than most.

I got this for my Jack Russell terrier. It fits him perfectly, length-wise, but I had to sew the front flap shut at its widest, because it kept popping open when he would stretch his neck forward. So now it stays on better, but he doesn't actually like wearing it (he doesn't like to wear any type of clothing). It is very well made, though, so I carry it in my pocket in case we hit a real rainstorm and he might need it. At least I like it...

It doesnt cover the bottom. It could atleast cover half of the chest and stomach and still have room for the dog to piss or not urinate the product. Its waterproof anywIt fit my dogs to bit loose and both are xtr large breed 80pounds...It fiy them but s littlr loose...I will return them and get a smaller size or just purchase later in the future.Im happy with this product. I found it cheaper oyher places.Will recomend

This product, a medium Ice Blue Outward hound Designer rain jacket is a perfect rain jacket for my daughter's Mini Aussie. I have bought the raincoats (4 in the past) for my Rottweilerand this is the best design for my dog. They have improved on this product by changing the under belly strap. I do like the way the collar stays up helping keep the rain off my dogs neck. The price was the best I have ever paid for a rain coat/jacket. I have paid almost twice amount in the past. It shipped quickly and I am very happy with the vendor of this product. I would definitely order this jacket again. I also purchased a the same product in a small for her while she was smaller. I felt like I got a good price on both and the price was so low I could buy 2 jackets in a 4 month period.

Delivery was a little slow, but definitely worth the wait. The coat is perfect and looks great!

Had them for my two larger dogs , now years later reordered for my two small dogs. Both times in different sizes they fit beautiful.
