Never Buy Again
I bought this hot water heater 2/20/21 its already leaking. Called the manufacturer whose basically worthless. Went round and round with him about the cause and sent him pictures of the leak. Finally, he says he can send the part for me to fix or else ship the whole thing back to him. And the ultimate response from his is that his warehouse is closed for another 3 weeks so nothing will be done until afterwards. Horrible will never buy this brand again.

Doesn't regulate, unusable
The Aquah 16L is a poor design. I had a Bosch on-demand for a few years and it died. While the Bosch was quirky, the Aquah is unusable. Basically an on-demand just can't be dumb and be useful. What does it need to be smart about?* Water flow: The faster water goes through the heater the less chance it has to heat it. Turning on too much hot water (like shower and clothes washer) doesn't give it enough time to heat the water. Running only just the kitchen sink at less than full blast lets the heater get the water too hot. On a well with a 40-60psi cycle the temp varies with the cycle.A little of that I was used to with the Bosch which did a little water mixing to moderate, but this one just swings temps wildly. When just running the sink, even with the gas setting pretty low, the water gets too hot and a safety switch cuts off the flame and it goes cold.* "On" rate: If the water isn't flowing enough the system either won't light the flame, or if it does get going but then you turn the sink down some, it's not enough flow and it cuts off. The Bosch I could keep going with a small flow at the sink. This one I had to keep the sink on almost full blast to keep it from cutting off.Likewise if you run the hot full but mix in some cold that pushes back on the hot and less hot flows and either it's not enough flow to keep going, or the hot is too hot and trips the safety cut-off. And a small tap, like a bathroom sink, might not get the heat to come on at all.* Gas level: The one I ended up switching to automatically varies the flame size. Lot's of water flowing? It cranks up the flame. Little water flowing? It reduces to a small flame so as not to overheat. The Aquah has manual water and gas flow controls but it's a catch 22. The water flow has to be all the way on hot, because any other setting mixes in some cold which pushes back on the hot and it becomes even harder to keep it going. If you set the gas level low so it doesn't overheat at the sink, then when you try to run two things it's only warm. If you crank up the flame to handle two things, then it's too much when running just the sink, it overheats and shuts down.I ended up going with a Takagi Jr only because it was the cheapest smart unit I could find. There are lots of others. Working directly with the US Aquah contact in Ohio was great. Very helpful and got the refund, but getting something with some smarts is a must.

2 faucet controls are the best be prepared for hot water at the far end ...
ok so far I just installed this. it is complicated to figure out as its a whole new ball game on water heating. I will try to explain what I have done.nr. 1 you will need to reduce your water input pressure into your house or at the water heater cut down on the amount of water enterering the w/heater I did both.nr. 2 you will need to put the water control over to the rightnr. 3 any water faucets or shower faucets with anti-scald will not work you will have to adjust themn4. 4 at the faucet you will have very hot water thus you will not need a large stream of hot water. 2 faucet controls are the best be prepared for hotwater at the far end of you house to get to you as your water will be cold until it draws the hot water to you.I think this will save the consumer a lot especially propane gas costs but be prepared for a learning curve with this. I would buy again.
