A Kid's Guide to Cats: How to Train, Care for, and Play and Communicate with Your Amazing Pet!

I used this book when I got my cats and it was invaluable. I had only had dogs.....and cats are NOT like dogs----said everyone!! I bought this copy for a friend at my retirement community who didn't know anything about cats and only had had dogs. And since she's a bit forgetful at her age, having the book that is an easy reference was a plus for her. Got her one other book to supplement this one. And she has been very pleased that she and her rehomed cat are besties. I liked that the explanations were short and to the point without a lot of extra wordiness. Books for kids can also be great quick references for memory-deficient adults. This lady is 90 and it works well for her.

I bought this for a friends daughter age 7, they were going to get her a kitten but it fell through and so they are waiting. ( they did not tell her as it would have been such a disappointment ) I have the book and love reading it, I am 61 and find all sorts of interesting things in this book. Don't hesitate just get it! Lot's of great photos, ideas for making toys for your cat's or kitten.So much information I'm reluctant to give it away now. I have had cat's for many years, most of my adult life actually. If you love cats you will love this book.! This book would be awesome for a child and with a parents help of reading too.

We used this book as part of a kitten reveal gift for our 6 year old daughter. It's definitely too hard for her to read, but its very valuable as we read it with her. (I'm learning a lot too.) We are impressed with the amount of information provided. From greeting a cat for the first time to training and caring for cats/kittens, this book has a lot of great info. (Common cat breeds, all about cat bodies, cat body language, the meaning of cat sounds, and so much more!) There's so much information in here and it's organized so it's easy to read a little each day or search for specific info. We loved the chore chart download and our daughter loves all of the craft ideas to make for her new kitten! I 100% recommend this for any child that needs to learn how to care for a kitten/cat!

Good tips and ideas for cat cares. Got this book for my grandson who just got his first pet - a kitten. The adults learned so much we didn't know or hadn't thought of for entertaining the kitten and we've all raised cats in the past.

This book was chockful of information that any cat owner should read regardless of age. It's a wonderful book to teach children the joys and responsibilities of owning a pet. Any parent should pick this book up for children that have pet cats. Well written, great illustrations and photos and I loved seeing the author's cat, Pet Safety Cat Casey, making appearances throughout the book.

This book is an excellent and fun look at what it is like to enjoy and care for a cat. The facts are helpful and extensive. There is lots of advice, many suggestions and ideas for things to make for a pet including toys and places to hide. Children learn how to approach a new pet, what to feed them, how to clean their litter, what kinds of play they enjoy, what to watch out for when they seem ill and more. There are quizzes and sections on whether to have an indoor or outdoor cat, fancy and less fancy breeds and whether to serve dry or wet food. Children will learn to better understand and read their cat's moods and behavior. Written by both the human author and her cat who makes comments as well, this book is highly recommended for young cat owners or those who are deciding if they would like to have a cat or kitten in their life.Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.

I bought this for my friend’s kids, who adopted two kittens. It is very easy to read, has lots of good info, and lots of pictures. I even learned a few new things, lol.

My 9 year old granddaughter absolutely loves this book. She has a new kitten and this book is very informative and she's able to understand the great information presented.

A great book for a child to read when bringing in a kitten to your house for the first time. Explains what your kitten/cats needs are for them to have a understanding of what they shouldn’t do, how cats behave and warning signs to tell them your cat/kitten wants space

Bought this for our 11 yr old before we got our cat. She read it cover to cover in one day, put post-it notes in for us to read. It was useful for the whole family, especially if you want a summarised version of what to do when. your new cat arrives. Highly recommend!If you are a cat expert, this probably isn't the book for you. But for kids (and adults!) who are interested in basic cat behaviour, safety, food and fun, this is perfect! It's not childish either, just the right balance of facts and fun! I certainly learnt a thing or two.

Daughter (11) finally got kitten alongside this book and lots of fun info for her to know her kitten. Definitely recommend (bought another for a friend after seeing how good it is)

My 8 year old son is enjoying this read. From a quick look it seems well done and informative
