Star Wars Death Star Waffle Maker

Product was purchased as used via Amazon Warehouse deals ("used" in this case meant that someone had ripped open the box, decided they didn't want it, and returned it). Product was delivered promptly and arrived in advertised condition. It was given as a birthday gift and we made waffles with it right away. We used a recipe off the Internet, instead of one of the recipes in the instruction booklet, although those recipes look good, too. The waffle maker worked well, and creates nicely detailed Death Star waffles. We found that we needed to experiment with the heat settings and the amount of batter to get the right consistency and ensure the waffles were thoroughly cooked. Once we determined the best setting (we turned it up to the highest setting) and the right amount of batter after the first batch, they turned out perfectly. Please note that this waffle maker will not create waffles with deep grooves and pockets for syrup, as a traditional Belgian-style waffle maker would. The waffles will be closer to a pancake consistency, as a result. However, they tasted great and we had a fun breakfast experience eating "Death Stars". Highly recommended for any Star Wars fan.

I have never had a waffle maker and I am a big Star Wars fan, so this was perfect for me.It was easy to uses,The only things that it takes a few tries to 1. get used to how much mix to put in to get a complete waffle, and 2. how long to cook it to get how you like it.Other then that it just fun.Waffles taste better when it is Star Wars.

This product is off the hook! I've seen some reviews that complained that the waffle maker was more like a pancake as the grooves are not as deep as some of your more traditional waffle-makers; in the end though, i think it comes down to personal preference. I like the pancake-y softer feel of the waffle it makes, so again, it's probably just personal opinion as to what you like best when sitting down to eat a waffle. This product was easy to clean and yes, makes your waffle look like a fantastic replica of the death-star. For all your star wars afficianados, i don't think you can go wrong with this product. The price is very affordable and as far as novelty goes, you really can't beat it. Will you have restaurant quality waffles on your breakfast (or other meal times) plate? Probably not, but I don't think you could expect to have a more functional waffle-maker than this for the money you spend. If you or your family member are in to star wars and you like seeing something a little outside the norm, I highly recommend this product as a gift!

This thing definitely makes something that resembles a pancake significantly more than a waffle, something a bit fluffier and softer rather than having that waffle texture. Fortunately for me, I read the other reviews mentioning this and thought it was more of a selling point, because I love pancakes. If you want *actual waffles*, don't get a novelty waffle maker. If you want rad Death Star pancakes, this is a winner. It did seem to take a little longer to cook than the instructions said, but the eventual outcome was a soft, lightly fluffy pancake with a nice, clear Death Star impression in it. I used a spritz of Pam to aid the non-stick, so after I was done and the machine cooled it was easy to wipe clean with a sponge. Your experience may vary depending on what batter you use, but if you happen to use the Funfetti pancake and waffle mix in the box, I found that an amount right in between 3/4 cup and 1 cup worked great when spread out evenly.

We've had this for a little over a year now. Still works great. The end product is a bit more pancake-like than waffle, as the impressions aren't that deep. But it's a lot of fun and the waffles look great.

I got this as a present for my boyfriend, which he LOVED. The expression alone once he realized what it was was priceless. When I went to make waffles, I had a few issues. Firstly, I had the setting turned to medium to take care I didn't burn the waffles. But they ended up being really under cooked. A huge disappointment. Once I turned the setting all the way to high, they started turning brown, but not an even brown like the picture. The waffle browned more in the center and the ends were still a bit under cooked. Secondly, the waffles were a bit flat and not puffy and airy the way Belgian waffles should be. Have only used once so I need to tinker with it more although I won't be getting rid of our other waffle maker. This makes for a great festive brunch but slightly disappointed with the end product.

This was an absolute Mom win! To be able to surprise my children with Death Star waffles on May the Fourth was pretty much the greatest mom victory of all time!Turn it all the way to max, spread about a cup of batter all the way around, and you will have perfect Death Stars every time!

I bought this as a gift for my niece and nephew. They love it! and almost every time a hot waffle comes off the iron they both hum loudly, the Imperial March song. Fun for all of us and you don't need to be Jedi to use it!:)

Exactly what my son asked for Christmas but I decided to wait for his birthday instead 😊

Worked okay. I found it took a really long time to make one waffle and the grooves were not very deep. Could be a little bit of user error on my part though, I dont make a ton of waffles.
