Transformers, Vol. 3: Revenge of the Decepticons

IDW's Transformers volume 3, is a much more satisfying entry into IDW's established universe for Transformers. Although I miss the Simon Furman books they started out with, and still regret the sudden changes that were made after  Revelations (The Transformers: Spotlight) , I found this volume entertaining and it was a much more enjoyable read then the previous book.The art style changes a lot in this book, opening with Nich Roche, who has a very cartoony style that although I've loved for his work on Doctor Who and Last stand of the wreckers, his style doesn't quite mesh with the complex movie style designs set up by Don Figuroa in the previous books. The art style changes after that to a more traditional look but still keeps Don's designs.The story bounces around a little, most being from the perception of the Decepticons and how Megatron has returned to power, then following the Autobots and their continuing problems dealing with humans.Aside from a few minor issues with design and character development, (mainly how Jazz is treated) the book kept me entertained and engaged for the most part which is always a good sign.The main draw of the book is Megatron. His redesigned form as well as his darker more sinister view on life (if that's possible for Megatron) is very fun to read. Invoking more of a Beast Wars style Megatron in how he thinks acts and talks.

It's a good story but the art style just seems off to me. These Transformers look really weird. They look like some generic Japanese Gundam Super Mega Force something-or-other. I don't understand why they have to be drawn so strangely. I don't like that, but I did enjoy the story. Recommended.

If you've read the first two books in this set, then you definitely need to read this book. It's an awesome book and really goes with the storyline. I would recommend this book if you're reading this series of the comics.

A great entry into the IDW Transformers tales. I won't give any spoilers, but this was definitely a solid story and worth reading!

My qualms with this book is that the writers made a big deal about how better and more dangerous Megatron is, however they fail to show this. You see Decepticons fall like flies but Autobots seem to be invincible or the writers just want to give false illusions.

It was very good It came on time and in great condiont my friend love it! She got the first one. I was really shocked when they came cause I didn't expect them to come when they did.

Great. Just like Megatron. Great for pass time reading. The talking is great but needs more action. I personally recommend this book to everyone.

スパイクとプライムの一撃で瀕死の重傷を負ったメガトロンが超強力になって華麗に復活です。プライムなど赤子の手を捻るが如く、軽くあしらってしまいます。そして、副題通りディセプティコンの逆襲が始まります。ただし、今回オートボット達に直接敵対するのは、ディセプティコン勢ではありません。恐怖に駆られ、暴徒と化した人間達です。（メガトロンの策により、重武装化までされています）メガトロン・オリジンでも見せましたが、メガトロンはこういう現体制への不満分子を焚き付けるのが上手いですね。人間の汚い面を見せ、プライムの心を折ろうとするメガトロンと、あくまで人間の良い面を信じるプライムのぶつかり合い。という構図が印象的でした。なお、ロボット同士の戦闘シーンは少ないので、そういうのを期待している人には物足りないかもしれません。今回も全編英語ですので、辞書や翻訳サイト片手にお楽しみ下さい。
