This title is highly deceptive - "Songs From The Sound Of Music (Accompaniment/Karaoke 2-CD Set)". The CD only contains the music and no words. Now that I have purchased this product, I realized that I needed to read all customer reviews thoroughly since many appear to be buying this to learn the music and only a few to play on a Karaoke machine. Buyer beware.I think that this category of project must not be highly refined in Amazon's mind and so I would be much more cautious in considering future purchases of Karaoke discs from Amazon.

Useful, but some caveats
I am a college professor of accounting. As a child, I grew up on Schoolhouse Rock, so when I became a professor, I decided to apply the Schoolhouse Rock concept of music as an aid to learning by writing accounting lyrics to well-known songs from famous musicals. This being arguably the most famous musical of all, several of my songs are based on songs from The Sound of Music.Overall, the renditions on this album are satisfactory. The quality of the orchestration sounds far more authentic than a previous Stage Stars product I bought (Les Miserables). That one sounded like synthesizers, whereas this one at least sounds closer to an actual orchestra. That being said, there is one major caveat to this product. It is based on the STAGE version of the musical (as you might expect from a company called Stage Stars Broadway Karaoke). Therefore, to those like me who primarily grew up on the FILM version, you should know about the following differences:* Key Changes:1. In the film, the key of B-Flat Major was used for "Maria," "Do-Re-Mi," "So Long, Farewell," and "Climb Ev'ry Mountain." On this album, these are all in the key of C Major.2. For "Sixteen Going on Seventeen," Rolf sings in the key of A-Flat Major in the film, but in the key of G Major on this album.3. "Edelweiss" is in B-Flat Major in the film version (as sung at the festival concert; I don't recall what key was used when the Captain sings it at home for the Baroness and Max). On this album, the song is in F Major.4. "Something Good" was in D Major in the film, but in F Major on this album.* Song Difference:"The Lonely Goatherd" is not the same in the stage version compared to the film version. The tuba player interlude and orchestral interlude for the marionette couples' dance are replaced by additional iterations of the "O ho lay dee odl lee o" yodelling. Also, some of the lyrics are in a different order; most notably, the last verse ("Happy are they...") comes earlier in the stage version of the song.Bottom line: If you are looking for something that is an EXACT karaoke equivalent of the FILM version of the songs, this is not the product you want. I'm not sure there is a product based on that criterion. But if you are fine with the key changes I've described and the alteration of "The Lonely Goatherd," this is probably the best karaoke product available for this musical.

No words
I am new at this and was under the impression that when the word "Karaoke" is on the cover, that means that words for your Karaoke machine are included. Apparently "Accompaniment/Karaoke" means music only. I think this is very misleading - I was disappointed that no words for the screen are included. If I just wanted the music, I wouldn't have bought something that is for Karaoke. This should be made clear in the product description.

not for true karaoke
I bought this for my seven year old daughter to use with her new karaoke machine. It was pretty pricey too. It doesn't have the words to go on the TV screen. I thought I was getting a karaoke music CD but this was a disappointment for the price.

Five Stars
Bought for my 8 year old Granddaughter she loves it.

Elementary Choir loves it!
This is great if you remember that it is the Broadway version and not Julie Andrews. I actually moved to the minus track faster since I didn't really like the voices of the ones singing. My students love it and I am thrilled to teach them loved classic songs.

Nice Music
A little hard to start and stop wear you want it (in the middle of the song).

Pretty Darn good
This Accompaniment Trax is really very fine. Read carefully! This is NOT just a "Karaoke" version! These orchestrations and keys match the Broadyway production EXACTLY. This is a GREAT rehearsal tool for anyone getting ready to produce a production of "The Sound of Music." Of course, it is against the law to use these tracks for an actual performance, but for rehearsal purposes, it is fantastic. Only a couple of the songs are not spot-on exactly like the Broadway score. For instance, "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" leaves out the dance section at the end of the song (pity!) Overall, however, the quality of this CD is VERY HIGH, considering the other junk out there on the market.
