Finders Keepers Hardcover – Picture Book, August 11, 2015

The stars are for the book. Technically NO stars , the kindle version has formatting issues on the kindle ipad app . Pages are cut off or disappear completely and then reappear when you flip the device. So one has to flip the iPad back and forth each time one turns the page. Not smooth reading with a toddler... Disappointing.

She is such a great author and usually her books contain a moral at the end. This one didn't but still was great. The kids at school liked it.

This books is cute until the last two pages. A squirrel uses the hat to mark where he’s hidden his acorn. The hat flies away in wind and eventually lands at the exact same place without the squirrel even knowing the journey the hat’s taken. This is cute. Then the book shows a snake creeps up after the squirrel finishes the acorn and a caterpillar looks scared up on a leaf. You would almost expect something dramatic to happen, but no, the snake simply picks up the acorn remains and uses it as his hat. I’m ok with the way the story is, but the ending is trying too hard for a surprise. Otherwise, it’s a nice cute book.
